Wow-unbelievable Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
having just recently bought the Yaesu Ft-2000 the essb bug started to bite.I was already running the Md-200 and was completly happy with the performance but i wanted more. Also having recent back surgery prompted me to improve the md-200's already good performance by way of some mic amping and enter the behringer gear which started to grow. The problem with dynamic mics is there tendancy to drop off at distances and this was causing me to slouch at the desk,Not good after having your back fused. All was fixed and going well but when i was scrolling ebay i came across a brand-new BR-500 which i won for $65.Id always wanted to try a condenser studio mic and i thought now is my chance.Well didnt i get floored when the courier arrived,in i raced to unpack my new toy and from that moment i havent turned back.Audio from this mic is outstanding, even before eqing it is totally flat in its audio response.Clean, clear and undistorted even at close range talking and now i dont have to slouch at the table. The mic is extremely sensitive even at low mic amping levels and has multiple pickup patterns which is great in a noisey radio enviroment. It is very solid in its construction and also quite wieghty requiring a decent stand or boom.Speaking of which would allow you to mount the shockmount that is supplied with the Br-500,Also included is a pop filter.Since this mic arrived 2mths ago i have put the Md-200 on another radio and have not looked back.Worth evey cent of the $65 i paid and outshines much more expensive microphones.
