Rock-bound and proud of it! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Icom's styling revision of the older IC-22, improving the channel marker visibility and ditching the weird tricorner knobs of the 22 (later resurrected on the 230).
22 crystal-controlled frequencies (if you even had the need for that many back then, or the cash if you did) and nothing else besides a meter. Excellent Icom audio, fairly small package, trimmers on each crystal, and a jack on the back for a 50-0-50uA meter to zero everything up properly (found mine at Fair Radio years ago).
Enough power for around town with a good antenna or to drive an amp out in the countryside. Bulletproof receive with 5 helical resonators and good IF filters. Mine was found with filters for 15-20Khz spacing, while older versions had filters for 30Khz spacing which may need swapping out if your area is crowded. The crystals appear to age downwards, so an old .97 pair will trim down to .96 if your area is on 20Khz spacing, for example. Crystals can be difficult to find second hand, and may not be in use in your area when found, so don't pass any up even if you don't need them now. They are good trading stock.

An excellent radio to monitor a favorite repeater or simplex pair or for dedicated packet duty.
