Review Summary For : OUTBACKER JOEY QRP PORTABLE ANTENNA
Reviews: 2MSRP: $299
Description:
The Outbacker Joey antenna is designed to be used in conjunction with low power portable transceivers (20 Watts PEP Max). On most transceivers a right angle PL259 adapter to mount the antenna on the rear of the transceiver is recommended. It is not recommended that the antenna be used portable when connected to front mounted BNC type sockets. Physical damage to the front panel may occur. The Outbacker Joey antenna is not to be used as a mobile vehicle antenna. Stationary use only. Band Coverage 80m-75m-40m-30m-20m-17m-15m-12m-10m-6m-2m
Product is in production

Great for its size. Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I've had a couple of them for a few years and it is my ultimate backup antenna. I've used it on vacation from hotel room balconies, on board ship, even (although NOT recommended) on a mag-mount for mobile. For its size, it does a decent job. Never had a problem tuning it up. Used it on my 817 while walking around and made some good contacts into the Midwest. It holds its own when compared to small monoband antennas and has the feature of being multiband. It is a a short antenna and is not going to compete with a full size vertical, especially on the lower bands but it is better than no antenna at all and better than some other short antennas. My only caveat is to be careful with the BNC connector. It is as sturdy as any but, by its nature, not strong. I never broke mine (or the part it was attached to) but I was careful.

OUTBACK 2000 Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
Use Falcon Outback 2000 + counterpoise indoors and have realy good results in CW on 14 Mcs. Different QSO's within Europe with QRP (5-7 Watts). Plugged in an my CW QRP Elecraft K1-4. The Falcon Outback 2000 is a look a like to Outbacker Joey.
