Great 600watt Amp Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I purchased this FL2100B about a year ago from a ham in New England, still had the plastic on it and the cover had at least 10+years of wear.Taken the amp apart and did a full cleaning plus re painted the outside cover, removed the plastic and cleaned it up like new.On the low bands it puts out about 700w and 10,15&20 about 600w but I run it mostly around 500 watts. Its a very solid amp and its shielding seem better than many of the 811 amps on the market today,no TVI and a clean signal. For around $400 in the used market this is one solid amp just its missing 160.

400w to 600w Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I bought this amp off of eBay from a ham in Canada. I didn't want to spend $1300 on a new one. It still had a plastic cover on the face. Inside were the original tubes (tungsol-GE's). They were putting out about 400watts. I went to RF parts and bought a pair of matched Taylor 572b's. It now puts out 600w and depending on the band, sometimes 800w. I run it from and Kenwood 940s and I've noticed improved contacts and am very happy with this purchase. Now, just looking for a 160 meter mod! Let me know if you have one.

Nice Amp. Time Owned: more than 12 months.
This is the 2nd FL-2100Z I've had over the years, the first one I sold and wished I had not ! Having 10 - 160 + WARC is a nice plus too. The first one I bought new in Germany in 1980 while stationed there with the US Army. The Canadian PX in Lahr Germany sold new Yaesu gear and was about the only game in town for Ham gear unless you wanted to buy it on the German market at about twice the price. I seem to recall that there was also a FL-2100ZA that was sold, don't recall much about that one. I wish someone would start up a FL-2100Z users group as this amp seems to have a good following. We could all share 'war stories' ha ha

One beauty of an Amp! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Just Picked up a Yaesu 2100B and man what a beautiful little Amp... The Tune-Up procedure smooth, easy, very little fuss or muss with setting this Amp that's for sure...

I have the fortune of having scopes&Analyzers that can watch me for lack of a better way of saying it... I am telling you this is one rock solid, well performing Amplifier that is very, very clean when run in it's range of performance.

I use mine on strictly AM and not a problem... It takes very little carrier to bring it too proper Deadkey, I have done some very long key-ups to test it, And it just takes it all day long.

As time goes on I will post more, but for now I have nothing but good to say of the Amp... Running it exclusively on AM will let me get a taste of what these 572B's will take...

'73's my friends.

Excellent Time Owned: more than 12 months.
This amplifier is excellent. I have modified it containing now 2 vacuum relays and one reed relay. This makes the switching almost silent. QSK is nice. The amplifier works almost as silently as my Acom 1000. This is a workhorse.

Great old no problim Amp. Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have owned mine for 25 years and in that time have had ZERO problems!!! Just turn it on and check for its usual 600 watts. Still have same tubes...have never had covers off to even clean it. What more could you ask!

Great Amp for your buck Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
Hi All. Have owned this amp for a while and is very simple to use. Puts out a solid 600 watts into a dummy load on 40m and 20m. 550w on 80m.
It does get warm and a fan on top to helps remove the hot air. The only minor down side to this amp is that on 10m there is a slight mismatch between the amp and the radio and the radio see a 2:1 SWR on 10m.

If your looking for an amp to give a relible 400w on all hf band the 2100z is a good start.

Beautiful product Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Looks good on the table when it's on or off. Great design and some one paid attention to fuction AND appearance!! This little baby will put out 600 Watts or more and do it for years and years. This is my back up and traveling amp..for those long and boring stays with the in-laws and other relatives. On the negative side ..it puts out a lot of heat and I wish that the meters had lights in them so you could see those little needles swingin' in the dark! Makes it hard to tune at night, without getting up to turn on the light. I also found the cabinet design a little troublesome. To me it is a very difficult job to get the cabinet off and change the tubes. But I still love it.

Love my FL2100Z Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I have an Icom IC-706mkiiG as an exciter, and use an Ameritron ACB-70412 buffer to key my Yaesu FL2100Z. Hard to find item now, I put up "Wanted" posts in Ebay and also in EHAM classified, and finally found one in mint condition for USD$600 + shipping. I really like the combo, the IC-706mkiiG drives the FL2100Z to legal input (1 kilowatt DC in Canada) on CW, which is the only mode I operate on the HF bands. My only complaint is no QSK keying. Anybody care to donate an Icom IC-PW1 to me? Spare 572B/T160L tubes can be had from http://www.rfparts.com or http://www.pentalabs.com
