Good kit, documentation OK Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
The kit came quickly and the materials are high quality. The instructions are poor and hard to read but I managed to build a 1:1 balun that works very well. An email question was never answered. The price is great but instructions need improvement.

Excellent...Excellent Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
The kit shipped fast comes as shown at the web site, just add your own connectors and case. I choose to build the 4:1 version per the supplied instructions. Once I wound the core with the tape, then the wire, did some soldering, I then epoxied the unit into a plastic box. Once set, I completed the connections making sure to allow space between the internal wires (to avoid any possible arching).

We used the balun at the transceiver into 450 ohm ladder line to a 80M dipole at field day. The system allowed us to tune both 80/75 and 20 meters using a LDG Z100 tuner without incident. maximum power transfer with little or no line loss (speaking ideally) over what we have had using coax (see the July '08 QST).

If you want a good balun and will take the time to build it right, and there are many ways to build these, you can have a very good, well functioning device.
