Solid Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I use this with an FT-857d and have no noise or voltage sag. Other have reported problems, which points to a quality issue. All I can report is on my experience, which has been good. I like the versatility of outlets (lighter and conventional). I had an MFJ 4245 which worked very well, but had very high fan noise and was not as portable.

I use this to power by FT-857D. It is quiet (compared to the MFJ 4245!) and has a range of outlets to meet all needs. The unit is compact and does not get more than a little warm @15a. Finally, it is compact and relatively light. Can see it being packed for portable use.

NICE!!! Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
After doing some research, I found this power supply. It is set up nice with the binding posts on the back where they should be. Also has the cig lighter socket, and two sets of spring connections on the front...very handy.

The thing I really like is the fact that you can adjust the noise blanker if you incur noise, I have never had to adjust this as I use it on 2/440 only for right now.

NEVER had any report of any hum in my transmissions. For 150 bucks, probably the best power supply loaded with features on the market today!!!

Great product Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I bought this one power supply for my hf rig. I use it with my yeasu 857d. It powers that and my other radio simultaneously. If you find out how to properly ground your station u won't have and problems with noise with this power supply. I have 2 other supplies this one is the quietest out of them all no noise at all on HF. The others who had problems with this may need to check grounding because that what did it for me. This thing is made of quality parts and I'm impressed. I'm sure it will give me years a of great use. Puts out almost enough power to run every thing in your shack. I can't see knocking a product if you do not use it right. I would recommend this supply.

Nice for VHF/UHF Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
As long as you use this power supply for a VHF/UHF transceiver, you will be OK. Connect this Alinco to a HF transceiver and you're in trouble.

Connected to a kenwood TS-570DG, I encountered S9 noise on 20 meters. It took a while before I realized that this noise was caused by the power supply and not by band conditions. After switching to a Yaesu FP-800, the noise disappeared.

Bottom line: switching power supplies have their strong points, such as a small footprint, but nothing beats an oldfashioned power supply when you want to avoid this type of man-made noise.

Lemon! Rubbish! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Noise all over the dial (160-10 meters). But more important, the power supple was purchased with a new Yaesu FT-857D. This PS could only produce 16 amps max (while voltage dropped below 11-volts)! Radio could only manage 30-watts with this product. Admittedly, this PS was probably a lemon, and another one might have performed better. But others here have remarked upon the RF-noise problem with a working DM-330MVT, and so I elected to trade this PS for a Astron/RS-35A. This PS works to rated power, and produces no noise. No change in price. Big, bulky, not portable; but absolutely clean, and has buckets of reserve power. I have nothing against Alinco, but DM-330MVT needs a rethink.

Very small, enough power and no QRM Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
As advertised, this powersupply is small compared to those with a regular transformer inside. There are smaller PSUs like the SEC-2032 and other brands. However, they don't deliver the terminals upfront, the meter (the current-meter comes very handy) and the voltage adjust. That makes the case a bit larger, but not too large.

The power that you can draw should be 30A momentarily. However, I use my FT-897 and with 100W the current doesn't exceed 20A. So, I only use it below spec's and it is still OK.

I didn't notice any QRM produced by the PSU. I can imagine that at some point there can be a frequency at which the PSU may cause some problems, but with the Noise Offset you can change the PSU's operating frequency so the QRM disappears. Every switched power supply will cause this problem, so don't buy one if you don't like it.

I give it a 5 because I believe this is the most versatile switching PSU that fits in my luggage.

Excided expectations Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I had been thinking several weeks before buy this one. Personally, I prefer ordinary transformer based PSU because switching ones may produce some noise. I recently replaced my good old MP 1000 MKV filed with TT Orion and decided to buy PSU. Ive been playing with 330MVE(European version wired for 220V) and Orion and must say, there no any noise even on low bands produced by this PSU.
I must admit it works fine on 25A continuous duty when I was CQ-ing during a hours. No any voltage degradation or something like that.

The only drawback is thin and cheap two wired main power cord. So, separate grounding is a must.

Great little power supply Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I put it in line to test before putting it away as a back-up. I checked it on all bands for noise...none! The fan is efficiant and only comes on after 10 min. of 20 watt key down, can not even hear it. I think I'll keep it in line and use the MFJ as the back-up (also good supply, but fan is loud)

You have to be nuts Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
Hi all,

Like others says this PSU it¡¦s ok just if you need around 20A continuous max.
I use from today an amplifier from MICROSET model SR200, injected with FT897 on 2m. Around 24-26 amps, my brand new Alinco PSU drops few volts, actually 9.1V instead of 13.8V !!! That is, a poor PSU. You will be very happy, only,if before, you use some home-made one ļ NEVERMIND to eat more than 20A from this one.

I modified it Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
It works as it should but....

I was stonished to find just a two prong mains cable when I unpacked it although it has a conductive cabinet. A simple screw is there for connecting the power supply with ground, as mentioed in the manual. But what is ground here? Mains ground (protective earth) or the ground terminal of your radio? What does happen if you connect it to your transceiver only and your antenna and the tuner is completely balanced without a connection to the earth?

When I touched a mains powered lamp with my elbow while carrying the power supply, which was connected to the mains outlet, I got an electric hit! I asked the company who imported the power supply to Germany for the electric safety. The technician answered that it was tested and the energy of the capacitors in the mains filter do not have enough energy to be dangerous. I ask myself who would repair my radio when such a high voltage hit would kill the input amplifier of my radio, or at least pay for such a repair??? With an AC-multimeter I checked the voltage for 105V and 1mA continous current...

My old EMTRON EPS-20ST power supply has a three prong mains cord and is even classified to be safe even for medical application! So decided to change the mains cord of my DM330MVE for a three wire version. The guarantee is voided, I know. But the power supply costs just €100.oo and the transceiver much more, my own life simply is not calculateable.

I think Alinco made it too easy here. After this modification I still think that a 4 or even a 5 is OK, but before I would give a 2.
