Good 902 Transverter Time Owned: more than 12 months.
This transverter has served me well for the last 8 years of mountaintopping. Generally if I can hear them I can work them. The model I have is an older one that puts out 10W and is no longer available new. When ordering make sure you know if activity in your area is on 902 or 903. I got the default 903 and had to order another LO crystal to get to 902. The kit is well designed and easy to assemble using good RF practices. If you have not assembled surface mount parts before, you should probably practice on a less critical kit. For LO alignment, you absolutely must have a frequency counter that does at least 200 MHz. If you get that set, the rest of the kit is fairly easy. It puts out a solid 10W on 902. The front end is very sensitive, but I have not had any problems with intermod even at crowded mountain top sites. This is a good kit to add another band to your UHF station.
