A must-have book for all interested in early radio. The author, working under auspices of the Smithsonian Institution, updates his original series of magazine articles on the subject of vacuum tube history. Highly detailed and illustrated (almost 500 pages). First issued in 1977 by Sams in hard and soft covers and reprinted in 1994 by Antique Electronic 'Supply. Scarce, but copies turn up now and then on ebay and similar sites.
