Excellent ! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Peter went through my 75S-3B. This is my first Collins receiver, so I have been learning how to operate it. It works great! Very sensitive, with very good audio. Overall a great value and highly recommended.

Great Service Time Owned: more than 12 months.
After 30+ years of gathering dust, I searched for a Collins restoration company and found Peter, K2LRC. After emails and since I live close by, my XYL and I drove to his QTH. His shack is amazing, and includes various test equipment and numerous Collins gear. The view of the Chesapeake Bay is not too shabby and is XYL, Ursula, was also very cordial. I left my five pieces of Collins gear in his hands.

After only about ten days I started to hear from Peter via email as he worked on each piece of equipment. We jointly decided it was not worth repairing my 30L-1 since it had seen better days; this probably relates to several dxpeditions to Curcaso in the 1970s when I lent my Collins gear to friends. However he was able to restore my base S-line.

Over the past month I have worked stations in the U.S. and other parts of the world, mostly on 40 meters with a dipole up 30 feet. All RST audio and CW reports have been excellent.

It has been a great getting back on the air; THANKS PETER!!!

What a pleasure Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have sent Peter many radios in the past and never disappointed with his knowledge and customer service. I want to share this recent event after my 75S3 returned for a quick check up and tune up. I was tuning 40m CW on my IC746 and heard Fred KH7Y very faint, barely audible signal. So I switched to my 950SDX with the same result. I then turned on my IC-775DSP which has a very hot receiver and experienced the same. I snapped on my 75S3 and let it warm up, found KH7Y, set the BFO and clicked in the 200 cycle filter and there he was 100% copy. Unbelievable !!
You did a beautiful job on my receiver.
Thank you so much. What a pleasure.

KWM-2A Repair Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Peter repaired my Collins KWM-2A and matching 516F-2 power supply which I have owned for 15+ years. It was exhibiting several different abnormalities due to its age -- all of which Peter corrected. He replaced many out of tolerance components, tubes, etc. and gave it a total realignment. It now works fine and I'm back on the air with great signal reports.

Peter's turnaround was very quick and he kept me updated throughout the process. At Peter's recommendation I used boxes from hamradioboxes.com which I highly recommend.

I highly recommend Peter Wittenberg with Collins Rebuilders.

Extremely knowledgeable and Honest Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Peter is a very talented and honest gentleman.
I sent him a Collins 30L-1 amp that blew-up/smoked on me. I work full time and don't have time to work on a lot of stuff.
Peter could have told me anything and taken me to the cleaners. Instead, he told me that he discovered a broken wire and a couple resistors that blew. Now, that's honest.
He knew exactly what to look for and didn't take me to the cleaners. I would definately send him work again. I most definately recommend him as an A plus.

KWM-2A repair services Time Owned: more than 12 months.
It is rare to find good quality radio in this series, I have owned mine for 50 plus years, finally I felt it needed service. I asked on the popular web site sponsored by the CCA collins collectors assoc. several names were offered, a person in the Midwest, New York and Peter Wittenberg K2LRC

When I reviewed the person, the ease of contacting him, response times and frankly was the person a serious responsible person .. When I contacted Peter he felt his backlog of work was about 2 weeks at the time, we set up a time to ship my set that would ideally fit into his work schedule. Peter received the set, confirmed my expectations, soon enough he contacted me and the set was ready, via. email I received a very professional statement, outlining the parts, labor and return shipping cost and offering me several ways to pay. Now the set is home back in the station line up. It can be debated if it worked this well when it was new. Every function works with no exceptions. A tricky part of these sets is making sure the PTO is set up and functional. Peter did this very well, mine is near perfect. I am very pleased with every aspect of my experience using Peter Wittenberg K2LRC DBA Collins Rebuilders. To close this review, ask yourself before you pick a service agent, can I contact this person using reasonable accepted methods, in reasonable times, email and a response within say 2-3 days, telephone or does the person offer fax or answering machine response support. when you talk to the service person is the conversation focused on the equipment and solving the requested service or does it ramble on and on ad nauseam woven with company lore and past experiences. While interesting, ample Collins history has been written in books for such persons.

Give Peter a try. use k2lrc@k2lrc.com I think you will be well pleased, I am..

Outstanding Customer Service Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I acquired a Collins KWM-2A and time did not allow my limited skills to look it over with hopes of getting it "On the Air". I fortunately discovered K2LRC in nearby Annapolis, MD. My Wife and I visited Peter's well-organized lab and it was obvious that Peter was all about Collins gear. His shop was quite orderly and his cordial personality was very welcomed (that's important to us). An estimate was offered, and when we arrived for the pick up, Peter powered it up and instructed us on tuning procedures. He went the extra step and cleaned the case. It looked great and operated as expected. We received a detailed and itemized repair summary and a very fair price. Further, he has since followed up with us to ensure our satisfaction. Where else can you get this level of quality service? I highly recommend Peter Wittenberg - K2LRC.

75S-3B -- Great Job! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
First time working with Peter & probably won't be the last. I have little time these days, and sent him my long-dormant 75S-3B for a going-through. Came back working & looking great. Peter is very responsive and interested in making sure you are satisfied!

Repaired 32S3 basket case Time Owned: more than 12 months.
After disassembling my 32S3, I was unable to re install the main tuning dial due to my dexterity problems. Peter repaired it for me, and brought the transmitter up to specs.

This is my second happy experience with Peter.
