Review Summary For : Nor Cal Power Meter Kit
Reviews: 1MSRP: 80.00
Description:
This is an inline power and SWR meter, designed for HF. It is capable of measuring power level from 0.1W to 9.9W. LCD displays the power and SWR, and analog meter indicates the reflected power.

There are four modes of LCD display:

Mode 1 indicates forward power, reflected power and SWR in numerical value.

Mode 2 indicates forward power and reflected power in bar-graph.

Mode 3 indicates peak envelope power for sideband. Note that the peak detection is performed in software.

Mode 4 indicates forward power and SWR in morse code for visually challenged hams.

An analog meter indicates the reflected power. It has much faster response than digital display. It's very useful for tunning the match box.

Nice QRP Watt Meter Time Owned: N.A.
This is a nice QRP watt meter that will give you reflected power, Power output and SWR in a nice LCD display as well as an analog meter for reflected power. I had two issues with the kit. The first is how the 9 volt battery gets mounted. It is next to impossible to replace the 9 volt battery without taking the kit apart. I would recommend rotating the battery mounting clip 90 degrees to what the instructions state and drill holes in the bottom case as required to mount the battery clip. The second issue is it is very confusing the way the instructions are written and they desperately need to correct the PDF file on the web site. You do not get the assembly manual with the kit. You have to download the manual from their web site. One set of instructions tell you to mount the diodes per the instructions. Then there is another correction stating the instructions are wrong. I ended up using the schematic to orient the diodes and the power meter worked correctly the first time it was powered up. I rated this kit a 3 due to the issues mentioned above.
