Use the tubing! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I had a 20 meter Gotham beam when I was 12 (1970) and I had a machine shop make a heavy duty U-Bolt assembly to mount it to the boom. It still didn't hold up too well. However, I did use the tubing to make dipoles, other beams and verticals. The matching system, I think, consisted of separating the center of the coax from the braid and sliding the center along the driver element till it matched. I never got that to work right, maybe I just wasn't doing it properly. I had fun with it though and made quite a few projects from the aluminum. It turned out to be a useful purchase after all!
