Great Value Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Being 1.25 isn't a busy band it's hard to find folks using it unless you're in So. Cal. The radio works great, manual is written well and easy to understand. The radio is very easy to use. I have been told to back off the mic, but like other Kenwood/Alinco radio's I've had they're usually pretty hot on the mic. Audio quality reports have been good. It seems to be the best value at $200 less than the Kenwood model. For some reason Kenwood single band radio's are way too expensive but dual banders are priced competitively.

Works well - Time Owned: more than 12 months.
If you want a 222 mHz mobile there is not much choice. Once programmed (it has 80 memories) and I wrote a "cheat sheet" for it's functions, I have been pleased with it's performance. I have used it almost 2 years with no problems.
I wish there were more operators on the band, if you can use it on a linked system such as Condor I recommend getting one.

Good 220 MHz performer Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have owned two of these radios now. The first radio I owned for 11 months and purchased it just after these came out. I had several problems with the radio. First, I had the display "garbage" problem that most kenwoods (i.e., TM-241, etc) and similar models had. I simply had to remove the display and clean the connector. Second, after the first winter I owned it, the radio would transmit a series of dtmf tones everytime the PTT button was pushed. This would continue until the radio was warm. Lastly, I was not too fond of the S-meter. The signal was either full scale or nothing. However, after owning the radio for 11 months, I called ADI and expressed my disgust with the radio and they said to send it in. To my surprise, they sent me a brand new one! So far, no more "cold weather problems" and the s-meter functions much more accurately than the first model. As far as features, the alinco rig for 220MHz is the only other one on the market that could match or out perform this. The kenwood version is quite antiquated and expensive for the features.
