Review Summary For : Transmission Line Transformers - by Jerry Sevick W2FMI
Reviews: 2MSRP: 59
Description:
This fourth edition contains all the valuable information
from earlier editions: the classic techniques of Guanella
and Ruthroff as well as hundreds of real transformers
constructed and measured to establish the practical levels
of bandwidth and loss performance that can be obtained with
transmission transformer techniques. This new edition
expands the coverage of what is already the most
comprehensive book on this subject.

Good technical information Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
This book is very informative and I have been building several different designs from his book with success. However, while trying to build the Dr. Sevick's "Linear Resistive Bridge with amplified current meter from the twelfth chapter of the fourth edition book I ran into a problem. The schematic has an obvious error on the 50uA meter circuit. Has anyone built this test equipment? Any advice? I have found nothing regarding this schematic diagram error. How do I contact this author?

Respectfully,

Great piece of knowledge! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have had the third edition since years and I comment on that. The book, albeit a little expensive, it had a good hardcover and quality paper. Pictures were black&white and very clear.
This book is very well written in non technical terms and it is interesting up to the very last page. It provided to me information that I could not find anywhere else. Jerry shows many ways of making baluns and ununs. Two ways are of course conventional transformers and autotranformers. Jerry shows the technique of transmission line tranformers, namely the Guanella and Ruthroff transformers which he shows to be more efficient and much more broadband. It shows the logic behind and the technique of construction for different impedance ratios. After reading this book, I built many transmission line baluns with the impedance ratio that I liked.
