Excellent 6m amp Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I bought this amp on Ebay at about half the list price and don't believe it had been used. The seller had 2 or 3 of them. It requires a power supply of just under 48 volts. I have been using two RS-20A Astrons in series with my main station power supply, an RS-70M, to give me about 44 volts.

It will take slightly more than 8 watts drive to drive it to maximum output. I've been running it at about 380 W peak output on SSB and 300 out on CW.

Down East only made a few of these amplifiers from existing TV amplifiers and ended the production when they used up the units they had. So if you can find one you are lucky because they work extremely well.

It has a small LED bar meter that indicates power output and when peaking 380 watts output on SSB, all bars light up.

There is no internal receive preamp. It has an RCA jack for the PTT line from a transceiver and internal auto bypass on receive. As you can see from the picture, it has a large fan on top which is a bit loud but not too bad.

This is an excellent amplifier if you can find one!
