Reviews: 4MSRP: 10.00 (black); 12.00 (other)
Description:
Model 315 replacement rubber trim ring for Ten-Tec HF transceivers and amplifiers. The new trim ring features a softer, better feel than the existing ‘car tire’ used around the circumference of Ten-Tec main tuning knobs since the 1980’s. They (black version) are now being supplied as new equipment on Ten-Tec HF transceivers. Can be used on the Omni-V, Omni-VI, Omni-VII, Orion, Orion II, Paragon, Paragon II, Jupiter transceivers, the Centaur, Centurion and Titan I/II/III amplifiers, and the 301 and 302 series external tuning knobs. Sold as single units, for rigs or amps with two large tuning knobs, order quantity of 2. Available in black, charcoal grey, light blue, dark blue, orange, red, and glow-in-the-dark.

Ten Tec Courtesy Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
When my Omni VI was returned from factory repair, Ten Tec installed the new rubber knob trim ring for as a courtesy, with a nice thank-you note. It really does give the main VFO a good feel. With just the corner of a finger, constant, solid contact is maintained. Thanks, Ten Tec!

Great Fun Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Ten Tec red rubber knob ring. Excellent. (How could they screw it up... it is just a rubber ring for Pete's sake...) but great fun to jazz up and put a slash of color on the rig.

Must Have! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
As a latecomer to Ten-Tec products (a used Paragon since traded in for a used Omni V), my complaint to Ten-Tec was that the main tuning knob did not do justice to the rigs. Compared to my TS-850 and its Icom 245 predecessor, the Ten-tec rigs felt "flimsy" or even a little "cheap" when tuning although the performance was great. Now, for $10 or $12, you can have a very pleasant change and have your older Ten-Tec feel like the new ones. These are soft and provide more friction to your fingers. I like them a lot and intend to replace the trim rings on my 238 tuner and Centaur amp also. Perhaps not for everyone, but for $10 it is not much of a gamble, especially if you felt as I did about the original knobs.
