The perfect 'PARROT' for the µBITX Time Owned: more than 12 months.
My µBITX is now happy to send clean CW (through the SSR output) without even the need of a PC with just a keyboard. F1... F10 can be used to send automated messages like the ones used in contests. I assembled it ten years ago and now turned out to be absolutely necessary. This is the PARROT I ever desired! CQ CQ CQ dx...

Here below you find my old review written in 2009:
Quality board. Very easy to assemble. The more difficult part is to double check how to connect the keyboard.
Old Keyboards should be ok but not too old (should not draw too much current).

With the installed options, keyer and the SSR tube keying chip, it can be used with almost any rigs.

A paddle input is provided. Combined with the Touch Switch II makes a terrific combo.

can of worms Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
For me the Island Keyboard keyer is still a work in progress. There are at least four errors or contradictions in the six page instructions, the schematic, the parts list, and the adendum. There is even a section in the instructions entitled 'GOTCHAS'. They got me alright. This is like the kits of old that made you wish you had bought a HeathKit instead. Yeah, one of those.
Don't waste your money.
