Surprisingly Good! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I realize some hams downplay some MFJ products but this unit is well made and really works well.
I currently run HF mobile with an Icom 7000 and had previously used a shunt coil as a matching device. Shunts work well but are subject to the environment and I found myself constantly adjusting the length of the shunt and having problems in any kind of inclement weather and vibration etc..
This unit solves the problem. I now have a broadband match from 80 to 10 meters and have not moved the selector switch since my first initial adjustment.
As MFJ states the unit is not waterproof, but having a cap on my vehicle made it a great choice...I simply tune for lowest SWR, since my antenna is matched by the shunt I am able to operate 80-10 meters right from the driver's seat.
Keep the jumper short, and you will have no problem with your mobile setup

Works Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I was in no mood to play around with a shunt coil as I am short on time. So this was a great addition to my lil Tarheel II. Just hook it up and adjust for the band you're on.

It works! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Certain many people would prefer to create a shunt coil for their mobile install of a screwdriver antenna. But, considering the time required to get the coil right, this little gadget might actually save you some time and money.
