Program & cable that works Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
Program works without any problem. For time to time updates for the program. The cable works excellent at win 7 x64.

usb plug falls apart Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Software is great, but the cable is cheap. The usb plug pushed into the plastic housing. rt sent me a new plug, and the same problem. I finally took it apart and used a hot glue gun to hold the metal part of the usb in place. I paid $45.00 for the kit and I will not buy another one.

This SW is some of the worst garbage I have ever had the misfortune to use. A complete waste of money. Avoid RT Systems at all costs.

To say tech support is useless would be missing an opportunity to use the words inefficient, inept, inferior, amateurish, awkward, bungling, bush-league, clumsy, floundering, helpless, inadequate, incapable, ineffectual, inefficient, ineligible, inept or as the Brits put it pure crap.

An untrained monkey in an India Call Center who only speaks Vinka would be more helpful.

The connection cable returns a Code 10 error that will not go away no matter what drivers I try.
Tech 'support' says it's my system, that's funny every other interface seems to work from Motorola RIB's to packet controllers for my RS-232

Can I give this stuff a negative rating number?
I want my money back.
If you need programming software, do yourself, your wallet and your sanity a favor and try the G4HFQ SW.

I first purchased programming software from RT Systems at Dayton a few years ago for one of my HTs. Since then I've purchased kits for other HT and mobile rigs and just recently for an HF rig. In all instances the software worked as advertised. Setup was also easy. One neat feature of RT Systems software is that one can cut and paste between many of the different supported radios. So, for intance, if you entered data (frequencies, labels, etc) for one HT you can simple paste that information into the software for another HT or mobile rig. In short quality products from a quality company!

I'll add my kudos to those already posted here. I first became acquainted with RT System by visiting their booth at Dayton in 2010. At that time they did not yet have cable and software for my brand new VX-8G HT. About six months later they had it in stock, and I ordered it from their web site. It has the slickest interface and the most problem free operation of any similar software I've ever used. And, believe me in my 30 years of hamming I've tried all sorts of similar products -- many by the equipment manufacture themselves. This product, however, beats 'em all. In fact, I was so impressed that I then ordered similar kits for my Kenwood TH-F6 and Yaseu 817. I have one on order for my Kenwood D710. The ability to cut and paste between the different rig applications is a real plus, as is the similar "look and feel" of each program. I also like the fact that each cable is direct USB to rig -- no USB to serial converter needed. Finally, if for some reason communications fails between computer and rig, a very helpful "hint" pops up and tells you just what you need to do to establish communication. For instance, I had forgotten to put my TH-F6 into "PC mode," and the pop up told me exactly which menu to access on the rig to get it setup up correctly. Oh how I wish other ham programs were this well thought out. This is best of breed. If you need this type of software to download memories and settings to a ham rig, this is the one to buy!

excellent cables Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I can not speak to their software, having never used it myself. However, their CAT cable for my FT897 is excellent. After using a cheap Chinese cable and having no end of weirdness, lockups, and prolific driver issues, I bought a replacement cable from RT and it is rock solid - cleaned up ALL my HRD control issues.
I've currently got a gable for my VX7 on order now since I really have issues with my non name from China programming cable there too.
Take my advice - no matter how cheap you are, NEVER buy a no-name cable - buy one from RT...

I brought the software for my FT 350 last year ,it is so much easy to program into the FT 350 Then try to do it program on the radio itself.make easy for you Rt systems is way to go !

Been using RT systems software for years with no problems whatsoever. I would recommend anyone to use RT systems. Is there other software out there that works. sure there is and most of it is free but thats not what this review is abt. The RT system products work as advertized.

Have used this on the Icom 92ad, icom 31a, and kenwood thd72a no issues what so ever worked like a champ made programming a breeze

Wow, some people are being really hard on this product. I used it with my Yaesu FT-1900 and it worked like a champ. Easy to program, easy to download.
