Ther Best! Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I've got the RT Systems Software for both my IC-7100 and ID-51A. I can't imagine anything better, especially with the new features added that incorporate RFinder. It is almost a seamless interface with RFinder that allows for programming Repeaters from the RFinder database. It works great.

The best programming kit! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have 5 programming kits from RT Systems for my various transceivers, and they all work flawlessly! Even puts in the correct offset when you add repeater frequencies. I would give them a 10 if I could! Great quick shipping, and great product, and customer service. This is hands down the best programming software and cable combination around!

Great Frustration Saver!! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
The software is a great time-saver. If I had hair, I would have pulled it out trying to program the FT-2900 manually. This system made it easy to input 65 channels in about an hour.

The process is simple: DOWNLOAD the software to the PC; CONNECT the radio to the PC to get necessary data from the radio; DISCONNECT the radio and enter your data; RECONNECT the radio to upload to the radio, done! All channels don't have to be done at once and it automatically saves your data.

The only downside to the software is defaults in certain fields are not changeable, such as from no tone to CTCSS or DCS, or you can't do a mass entry of check-boxes by column or row.

This was only minor, so it still rates a 5 in my book. Top notch product!

New integrated RFinder Routing Function Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Check this out...Rod did a GREAT job incorporating this...just put in start end end points, waypoints on your trip and magically all the repeaters along the route show up and you can write them into your radio!

V4 of RT Systems software accesses the RFinder - The World Wide Repeater Directory! No more data entry, just query a location on Earth, choose your repeaters, and write them into your radio. What took hours of research and data entry now takes under 5 minutes. A subscription to the World Wide Repeater directory is only US$9.95/year. The WWRD is also accessible from Android or iPhone, just look for RFinder in Google Play/Market or the App Store. The Smartphone clients are also only $9.95.

Excellent customer support Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I had a couple of issue getting the latest software release of ID-51Plus Programmer running (Version 5.00.09). Minor development hiccups but left me without a few features. Contacted RT Systems via phone and Karin walked me through a couple of fixes, took remote control of my PC, fixed what was a idiot mistake on my part, updated their software, updated my DV repeater list, added a new D-STAR repeater at my request AND reloaded my radio. All now seem to be working well and I learned a great deal. More to learn but Karin gave me a huge head-start. I must rate their product and service right up there with Elecraft. Great companies to work with. Tnx N0RTX and staff!

Great Software - Horrible DRM Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Good software. Good Support. Poor Software Distribution and Serial Number Management Policy.

I will start by saying that I have three different copies of this software so I must think it's the best of the bunch. But as soon as somebody else comes along with something decent, I'll jump ship simply because, in this day and age, putting people through all the hoops they do to guard their precious serial numbers and DRM is inexcusable. I don't want to deal with DVD's anymore. If you opt to download the software, guess what? You'll be forced to burn a DVD and then return to their site with a hash to generate a key for that particular installation and then return to that DVD that you burned and install from it. The machine blows up and you have to reinstall... Who knows, I'll go back to their site and generate another key and hopefully it works. What if they go out of business and I can't generate a new key? Putting the burden on the customer to force the burning of DVD's to store some place safe and all the rigamarole with hashed serial numbers is just bad business and done ever more rarely. There is a reason for that.

On a positive note, I had a problem installing in a virtual machine on a Mac. They immediately answered the phone, knew what to do and had me running in about 10 minutes. Kudos to the Support guy.

Quick, easy & great support Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I've used the RT Systems programmer for my Kenwood TM-V71A for several years and always found it the best of the breed for programming the rig. I recently bought a Baofeng dual-band HT and decided to first try the manufacturer-provided software, then tried CHIRP. CHIRP was far better than the Baofeng software, but still left a lot to be desired. I then ordered the UV-82 programmer from RT Systems and couldn't be happier. It works, works every time, and works without any effort.
A cockpit error loading a route file from RFinder to the UV-82L using the RT Systems programmer led me to shoot an email to RT Systems. I was hoping for a fast reply as I'm leaving on a road trip in a couple of days and wanted to use the UV-82L on the way. Well, Bob from RT Systems replied, answered my question and did it within 45 minutes. You can't beat that for service! If I could rate RT Systems higher than a Five I would do so.

ALINCO DR-235 [220 MHz] Software is a Snap! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I've had nothing but smooth sailing with the other two software packages [ICOM 208-H and Yaesu FT-60R], so I thought that I'd give the Alinco a try today. HRO in San Diego had one left.

Inside of 5 minutes, I had the Alinco programmed and alphabetized. The Alinco accommodates a 7 digit alpha tag display [so does the software!] which is really nice. I love 220.

Laziness is not the issue for my programming a radio! As we get older, our hands and our vision can sometimes get compromised; it is difficult to program h/tees with large fingers and a magnifying glass.

Some complain that the price is a bit high, but I have always felt that my time is worth the expense. I programmed each of my radios manually, before I found the RT Systems. I'm sold on their great products.

Now, if they would only produce a software package for my Kenwood TH G-71A.

How 'bout it, R.T.; what d'ya say?

Earlier, I remarked about the FT-60R software programming and how well it worked. So well in fact that I bought their IC-208H program.

It has not failed to work just as spectacular as did the Yaesu product.

Can't say enough about how pleased I am!

Thanks, RT Systems!

I can add very little to the glowing reviews posted below. No more looking for com ports is just the starting point to praise what RT Systems offers in their software.

I am a C.E.R.T. team member and we use the Yaesu FT-60R exclusively within our group. Programming these radios is so much quicker and simpler and permits so many variations in the software, as others have mentioned here.

Thank you, R.T. Systems!

A real time saver Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I have two IC-7000's, one in the shack and one in my truck. I am not a computer person but this software was so easy to use that I was amazed. After a quick look at the start up procedure I was able to configure both of my radios without hardly any effort.

Greeat service Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I bought a new Yaesu FT1DR and the software to program it. I had a problem in programming it and called RT Systems. I was put on hold for a few seconds and transferred to a tech. He knew the software and walked me through it and got me on the air fast. It was not a problem with the software but it was operator error on my part.(You should format a new SD card prior to use per the manual)
I have several copies of the RT Systems software for various radios and all work very well. I have never had a problem with one of their cables,They just work first time.I have no connection to them but happily buy their products
