Really good headset Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
Inexpensive headset - perfect for when I have W6CCN (75 meter) net control duties. Could be a little hard to use in a very noisy environment, but where I use it - it is relatively quiet, so it meets my needs. I considered getting a more expensive headset but I don not really need to deal with noisy rooms.

Really Good! Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I was pleasantly surprised by this headset with open air earphone receivers and dynamic microphone costing between $40 and $45. I usually prefer a closed cup earphone receivers which attenuate ambient noise in the shack from cooling fans and the XYL wondering when I will finish my chores. This headset is very comfortable, with low clamping force. It stays on, but does not pinch or squash my ears against my head, and it sounds good with strong and pleasant audio. Being a little weak on bass, it is well suited for communications grade audio. The dynamic microphone element is a real treat, sounding rather close to that of my full size, commercial grade, broadcast quality AudioTechnica BPHS-1 headset. This provides a more appropriate match to most transceivers (other than Icom rigs) because it is a dynamic mic element, and not a computer type electret condenser type. It sounds better and does not overload the mic input as many computer mic capsules do.

Good enough build quality, this should last a long time unless you handle it roughly, throw it around, or step on it. Whaddaya expect for $40?

Good headset for the money.

Just MY take... / K8JHR /

Excellent headset Time Owned: more than 12 months.
This is one of the best kept secrets in amateur radio I think. This is a really nice headset with excellent audio both on RX and TX in a lightweight and inexpensive headset. No problems driving a variety of radios over the years. These are compact, on-ear headphones and do not block out external noise much so are not as well suited for a multi op station or really noisy environment, but are great for other uses where you do not need to really attenuate external noise. The microphone IS noise cancelling and does a good job at providing clear audio in noisy environments however.

Good audio - light weight - inexpensive Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have received consistently excellent audio quality reports with this headset using a Yaesu FT1000MP, TenTec Omni VII and Elecraft K2 and K3 transceivers. They are lightweight and open-air enough to wear for contesting in a tropical environment. Comparatively cheap and relatively durable, they are my choice for DXpedition and Field Day operation. They come with mini and 1/4" plugs, so they work with many rigs out-of-the-box.
