A Good Rig For The Time That I Had It... Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I sure did cut my eyeteeth on this 2nd hand rig back in 1975 when I upgraded to "Advanced Amateur" class here in Canada, & could operate SSB...

It never could operate as efficiently on 10-, or 15-meters as it did on the lower bands (power output on 10-meters, especially, was a fraction of what it put out on 40), but I sure had fun with the rig, & learned a lot in the process, too.

Old Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Ok ish, needs mods in this day and age to survive and be usable, lowish power out.
Getting a bit long in the tooth so needs COMPLETE overhaul to be safe.
BUT it MUST be good, GM1FLQ thinks it is (sic)

Built 1966 still no faults Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Well what can you say, homebuilt in 1966 and still in fully working condition - not only that, it sounds better than a lot of newer equipment. Run it transceive with the matching SB-300 receiver - feels more like a real ham shack when running this gear. Performance is very good, in fact the audio seems to get replies easier than some of the up to date kit. Wonder how many of the new radios will still be fully working in 40 years time.
