Such a deal you can get right now Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I bought the 6.5kw onan set about a year ago. It came out of a damaged motorhome. Set it up for emergency power to run the ham shack. Instead it has been used to power the house, field day and a host of other party stuff.

I paid only $700 for it from the neighbor who lost his motorhome to a big tree that fell in the big storms last year.

Made a small trailer that we got from harbor freight and mounted it, a battery and 4ea -5 gallon jerry cans with outboard motor quick connects for the fuel. We used the metal sound isolation box that we got out of the motorhome also.. and you can hardly hear it running from 10 ft away. With its own fuel pump it really keeps on going so long as you provide fuel.

Stable as a rock. Depends on the load for any of them to hold frequency.

We ran this on at field day and camp all week long and it never failed us unlike others who lost the high rpm one after another on the second and thrid day of running.

The 4.0 was a recent purchase again from a rollover damage 5th wheel trailer this year. We got this one for less than $300. Newer it only had 250hours on the remote meter. This one we mounted again on a small trailer for the rado club EO commucations. Towed behind the pu to the site along with the commucations trailer it provides more than enough power for the weekend or week.

Cheap quiet well built and tireless these are now becoming a grest buy for the radio clubs and field day or EOS While others are up around the 2-3000 dollar mark these gen sets can be had for less and while heavier just keep on ticking. For the pirce they can't be beat. They were made to power Air Conditioners and a RV. They work just as well in a commucation trailer providing not only the raido power but also the needed environmental conserns for the operators too.

Check them out.
