Review Summary For : LDG Z-100Plus
Reviews: 49MSRP: 159.99
Description:
LDG’s popular Z-100 economy tuner is now the Z-100Plus. Still small and simple to use, the Z-100Plus sports 2000 memories that store both frequency and tuning parameters. It will run on any voltage source from 7 to 18 volts; six AA batteries will run it for a year of normal use. Current draw while tuning is less than 100ma.

Don't leave home without it. Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I use mine with various QRP rigs in the field. Powered with two 9 volt batteries that seem to last forever. LDG stands behind their products 100% and this tuner is another winner, small, fast and very efficient.

Works great! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.

This is a great tuner that comes with several interface cables and a jumper coax. I have a ground mounted 41' vertical antenna (no loading coils) with 50' ground radialls and a 4:1 balun. My old MFJ-949E could tune 80 through 15 with SWR below 2:1. The Z100Plus can tune 80 through 10 with SWR below 1.5:1!

The full tune cycle takes a few seconds and a memory tune takes around one second. So far it tunes on the first try everytime! It comes in a small metal case and uses very little power. I have not had any problems whatsoever.

My old Kenwood can't interface with this tuner so to tune you have to provide a constant carrier and push a button. I think this tuner is a great value and a great performer.

Wonderful Auto Tuner Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I can tell everyone that if you want a GREAT auto tuner this is the one. I just wished that I had bought it sooner. It will tune ALL HF bands 6-160 as I have a 160 inverted L, 3 element 5 band beam, 75 meter inverted v, and a multi band vertical. If you just run the 120-125 watts out of the radio you need this tuner.

LDG you have a winner and it does what you say.
Thanks & 73's

Love it. Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I finally bought this auto tuner a couple of weeks ago. Love it. Was using an MFJ manual tuner until recently. Didn't know what i was missing out on. It works great. It is a little noisy when first tuning a new band, but once in memory, it switches quickly and quietly. Remember to turn down your mic gain while tuning to prevent transmitting the relays latching.
My only concern is that it will not tune at low wattage input. Kept getting error codes (no carrier). I was only able to figure it out by accident, when i just happened to turn my power up and it worked. It works fine at lower power after it tunes the antenna.
I know it only has one button, but i still needed to read the manual. That one button has three functions.
I am feeding a G5RV Junior dipole and it tunes all bands just fine except for 160 (too short).
I have a Diamond swr/watt meter connected in line with the tuner to verify results.
I am using a Kenwood TS-180 with the tuner. It comes with cables for newer rigs that control it directly.
Very satisfied with this purchase.

as advertised Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I'm tuning a 75 foot wire (with a 1:1 LDG balun and a couple of tuned counterpoise wires) easily on 40, 60,and 80 meters, my bands of choice. It also tunes nicely on 20 meters. Have not tried any other bands, but I'm sure with different lengths of wire and / or a 4:1 balun I could tune any of the other bands. Fit and finish is nice and good customer service too. I had an external VSWR meter in series for a while and it always tuned the wire to less than 1.5:1, as advertised. Good job LDG.

Great tuner Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Just recently obtained this tuner. Does what
the instruction manual says, tunes quickly, and
once in memory retunes are usually in a second.
This is into a jr. G5RV up about 18 feet.
The MFJ 949E is setting on the side, should have
bought one of these auto tuners a long time ago.

Fantastic Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
Works exactly as the book says. I was somewhat leary about tuners that don't have lots of buttons, switches and meters. But, you don't need any of that stuff unless your antenna is a old wringer washing machine, I haven't tried that yet (anybody know how to match it up). With one touch of the tuning button you get the "go ahead" green light within the time listed in the instructions, after you use it a while and the frequencies you use all the time are in the memory, it tunes instantly. What else is there to tuning up to 125w. I use it primarily on the 80-10 G5RV, no problems.

Easy as pie! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I picked mine up at AES while on vacation in Las Vegas. It works like a charm. Use it mostly on 6 meters with great results. Worth buying or at least trying.

better than the original Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Ordered from cheapham for $139, delivered two days later. Tunes my shortened G5RV from 40-6 meters quickly as advertised.
