Solid Amp Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Got this one used about 2 years ago, the preamp was DOA and I havent gotten around to repairing it yet. Other than the preamp, the amp is great. It does 75-80 watts and will do 30-40 with 5 watts in, this makes a great amp for your HT - and it stays cool at 50% out.
BTW---This is a Pre-MFJ amp, so is problem free!

Absolutely works every time Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Have used it on 2 Meter SSB/CW/FM and just can't say anything more than it works. I'm especially appreciative of the pre-amp. I can hear things that are completely in the mud when I use it! Buy one if you ever get the chance. Once you use one, you'll hold onto it forever!

Great Amp! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
This is a new review for an old amp. The B-108 is a 10W in 75-80W out amp. 2w in will give you about 35W out. It has been superceeded by the B-108G. The B-108 is a great amp. I have had one for over 15 years and never had a problem. With the advent of all the 100W 2M radios, the 108 has become a dinosaur. It has internal RF switching and is all mode, switchable. It has a built in pre-amp, not GAsFet, but still very acceptable. Today (2009) they can be bought for $60 to $80, a dollar a watt. Whether you have an HT or a QRP radio that has 2M, you can't beat it dollar for dollar. Mine has never failed and the only failures I have heard of were from over driving it. For those who don't know the Mirage brand, the prefix tells you the band the amp is on. A= 6M B= 2M C=220 D= 440/450. The next two numbers tell you the max input and the last one/two tell you the output. B-108 is 2M 10W in 80W out. An A-3016 is 6M 30W in 160W out. Please don't pass up this amp because it's old. It's truly a winner. Just in case, test it first before buying, . GL, 73, John
