Poor quality control. Missing parts. Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
First, the driven elements for 2M were missing. Called Hygain and was told they would ship the antenna elements right away. A week later I’m still waiting.

Second, the antenna elements attach to the boom with push nuts that slide down the element to hold it against the boom.

The push nuts are too small to fit over antenna elements. I’m looking for an alternate solution to hold the antenna elements in place.

When I called Ham Radio Outlet I was told missing parts are common with Hygain Antennas. I wonder why they still sell Hygain Antennas if they know customers are going to have problems.

I haven’t even gotten to the point of knowing if I have to drill new holes to correct defective equipment.

Back in the day, Hygain made good antennas. Since they have been bought by MFJ, they are just another source of Mighty Fine Junk.

If I wanted to design my own yagi I would have gone to the hardware store and built one. What I wanted to do was install a VHF/UHF antenna out of the box.

Not going to happen.

Don’t buy the DB-2345. There are better antennas. I wasted $100.

Lack of QC on DB-2345 Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Ordered a DB-2345 from R&L (R&L are the good guys here), and the box had an MFJ catalog from 2017 in it so I expect it had been in their inventory for awhile (ordered 5/2019). All the holes for the 3/16 elements are miss drilled. I have no way to know which holes are correct since there are no element spacing dimensions in the documentation. I have filed a trouble ticket with Hy-gain (MFJ) asking for a boom that is correct. Way to blow my Saturday morning MFJ..... :(

Update 2/2020
Redrilled the holes after the first review and it seems to be operable. But, it is still a poorly manufactured disgrace to the HyGain name. I recently mounted it up on pole about 25 feet up so I can hit my UHF repeater 20 miles away, and other repeaters at equal or further away. Won't buy another and won't recommend....

Good for backup Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I use my DB-2345 for not-too-distant contacts. It is actually attic-mounted. I have to concur with other reviewer about the mounting brackets. When mounted according to instructions, the antenna is about 10 degrees off and I, too, had to adjust the bracket. Can't beat the price...bought it used for $15.00...replaced feedline. Even mounted in my attic (about 30 feet AGL), I can make contacts 50 miles on 2 meters easily.

Adequate for local contacts. Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Overpriced. You could easily duplicate it if you had the measurements. Feed line is fragile. My antenna had the holes for the boom-to-mast clamp drilled out of alignment, causing the beam to be mounted about 10 degrees off the vertical. I had to bend the clamp to correct the alignment.
