Review Summary For : W2AU Antenna 75-40 Antenna Kit
Reviews: 1MSRP: $85
Description:
Easy to assemble kit for a very effective trap dipole for 80
or 75 and 40 meters. Other traps can be added for more
precise tuning of other bands, or a wide-range tuner can be
used with the standard 80/40 kit for all band coverage.

Always works, and works well Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I had the full 5 band version of this with all the standard traps when I lived in Vermont under the last sunspot cycle. I did WAS in a month, and WAC in less than 3 with just this simple wire antenna suspended with a tripod made of mil surplus fiberglass mast sections and a tripod base (check eBay - cheap!!) and tied off to a tree and a cheap RS pole attached to the house in my small suuirban yard. It's 90 feet for the 75/40 configuration. so don't hesitate to try catty-corner across the lot if you have a small yard like me. After fussing with several other tries here in Ohio, I decided to re-try this old friend and found that it installed easily with minimal fuss for my work on the WAS nets on 75 and 40. Simple, easy, cheap, and the darn thing works. I bought the W2AU 1:1 balun and the 40 meter traps, and got my own wire (#14 stranded black coated) from Lowe's) and beat the kit price by quite a bit. I recommend getting the GAP support line, as it's cheap and sturdy. I have some lengths up for more than 4 years w/o any problems. Excellent results at only 35 feet at the center of the dipole. de KK8ZZ Ohio
