I could never go back!!! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
For years I wished for a better way to spin my beam. Bought the kit at Dayton 2002 and just built it now.(10/02) I wish I didn't wait so long. The board is excellent, plated though holes and so forth. It worked right the first time. It has great programming to handle any stuation. It took about two hours to do the board and three hours to install. The manual was simple. Why didn't Hy-gain think of this? Worth every cent!

AAAAA+++++ Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Building is a snap with the very clear intructions (although I do agree that more photos would be nice). Removed my old Lance Johnson Delay-5 from the T2X control box, installed the Rotor-EZ and it worked perfectly from the get-go. Point-n-shoot with a T2X, whoda thunk it?? And, wait until you see the automatic unjam routine working!! WOW! I'm completely impressed!! Great work, guys!

Give your rotor a brain! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Super kit! I spent 2 hours building the PCB and 3 hours to install it in the Tail twister controller. The RS232 option works great. The install manual was easy to read. However it would have been nice to have a few photos. The only negative would be that the kit provide sockets for all the ICs. Max232 chips do go bad! Thus having the chip in a socket makes for quick trouble shooting and easy a fix. Other than that this is a great kit.

Winner! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
eHam attracts a lot of "5's" that really just mean "good product". My criteria is higher than that. More than that is required for me to give a "5". It must meet original claims for use, and after using the product, I must be thrilled and delighted with my purchase decision. In this case, I am. I'd *never* go back to the original Ham IV operation.

The kit went together flawlessly and worked the ftrst time I applied power. My Ham IV has been transformed into 'modern' rotators in the new mellenium! Not only does it give me "dial up and go" pointing, its very gentle on the Ham IV with in the way it deals with the brake and "anti-stick". For the price requested, it is a DEAL. I'd buy this product again in a heart beat.

Excellent Kit/Outstanding Performance Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I purchased the Rotor EZ kit for a Ham IV that I overhauled. I ordered the RS 232 version even though I did not have an immediate need for it.

This kit can be characterized as of excellent material quality, especially the pc board itself. Nice to see good quality here particularly if one makes a mistake and needs to do rework. Lifted pads can be problematic on poor quality boards. These are excellent.

The assembly instructions were very good. I have noted that previous reviewers compared the instructions as almost as good as Elecraft's stuff. I have no experience with Elecraft, but I am old enough to have built many Heathkits. This instruction set is very comparable to Heathkit material. It does assume that the assembler has a rudimentary knowledge of electronics. I would hesitate to suggest that a first time kit builder tackle a project like this.

The idiompress crew has a very professional web site and ordering system. It rivals the big retailers who have spent big bucks to make it easy to order what you need and give you feedback on the process of your order. Speaks volumes about being professional. This extends to the kit itself.

The actual performance of the product is great. I found that I didn't need any of the options that are available on the board. Just the idea of being able to "point and shoot" compared to the old conventional way of operating the rotator was like going from the stone age to star wars in a long weekend.

Great product, excellent customer service.

This is a good thing! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I bought the kit with the serial control option. Wnet together quickly with the clearly written instructions. The intermediate test steps help prevent any Homerisms. Totally satisfied with this one, as I was with the first one I bought over a year ago.

Supported by the major logging and contest programs it makes a little pistol bigger...

Really Great Kit. Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I wanted to add my 2 cents to the praise of this kit. I had no problems with building, but would like to see better explanation of the calibration process. I finally got mine calibrated and it worked the first time. Thanks Idiom Press for a really neat project.

An absolute MUST! Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
This IS the greatest thing since sliced bread! Well made. Easy to assemble. Calibration could be a tad easier but once set you can forget about it. Turn the direction knob, hit the brake lever and both hands are free. I can not imagine operating without it.

Excellent Prod/materials Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I just installed the Rotor-EZ board w/RS-232 in my CD-44 control box and it works beautifully -as advertised! I think this is one of the few, of many kits I've built, that worked right the first time!
The board itself is very well made: I soldered the wrong IC in by mistake, and of course I had soldered all the pins very well. It took a while to desolder it. There was no damage to the board at all. I'm talking 15 minutes of heating, pulling, solderwicking and such! I was really amazed!

Good Product Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
Works as stated, kit was easy to assemble and install. Good instructions. I am more than satisfied with results, I do recommend the RS-232 option It will spoil you if your loging program supports rotor control.
