FANTASTIC WORK AT AFFORDABLE PRICES Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I hired Mr. Dan Street, K1TO, of A-1 Tower Service to get 3 antennas assembled, up in the air and working well. I Must say I am Impressed. Dan does Quality Work and his Prices are very fair. I highly recommend Dan to anyone who needs new antenna work, new tower work, changes in your antenna set up and repairs to existing towers, antennas and related products. Dan is one of the few men younger than me that I can truly look up to. Dan has the answers and he'll get you on the air Fast whether it's repairs or complete new installs of antennas, towers and all related equipment. Dan is a good Thinker and will come up with the Best Cost Effective Solution to your Tower and Antenna needs. You will be impressed with Dan's work because I know good work when I see it. Thank You Dan Street for your Good Works and Kindness. 73, Jeff Haught, K4QX, Largo, FL.
GOOD JOB DAN, THANK YOU KIND SIR.

That extra mile of safety and planning Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I needed a Monstir beam and 100 foot Rohn taken down in South Carolina. Dan was able to work his schedule around to fit mine and we drove to SC together from central Florida. We had a crane scheduled. Dan was able to do the job safely and used the crane efficiently so as to not have extra charges. With me as ground crew he orchestrated the job and had all on the ground in under 3 hours.

I'm in the aviation business so I especially admire Dan's methodical planning and his concern for safety. He even brought a hard hat for my 70 year old head. If you need any tower or antenna work I highly reccommend Dan.

I would highly recommend the services of A1 Tower Service run by Dan K1TO for any antenna/tower projects you may have in mind.

In reading the other comments here I would also concur with the many attributes of Dan’s work. I will focus on an intangible that is very important to me.” How did I feel when the job was done”

My job was a Cubex Quad 5 band two element Project. The antenna is surrounded by trees and is a real dog to work on. Due to restrictions this my only option. Dan undertook the mission of having to drop the antenna part way disassemble and fix broken elements and untangle elements that had been damaged by the trees. We also did not know if the rotor was bad or acting poorly because of the branches. It turned out to be bad but……… Dan had brought along a replacement and we were able to swap it out there and then and not have to send it away for repairs.

The antenna uses 5 different feeds and some with matching sections making for a lot of coax on the tower and a lot of connections. I had some problems but did not know where. Using the MFJ analyzer and a VTVM we were able to check the coax and fix the troublesome areas. Everything was resealed and dressed down the tower.

When the job was done it was really done. Unlike so many times before when the contractor left there was still work for me to conclude that would have been so much better done when doing the tower work. When Dan left the job I was satisfied as a customer but I also knew everything worked and I could use it NOW! A very nice feeling.

Careful and perfect, easy to work with Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I hired Dan to replace all the 21-year-old coax and cables running up my 89' self-supporting crank-up tower. First I had Dan remove the old RCS-8V switchboxes and all the cables, plus the rotator cable. He had to break a rusted U-bolt to get one of the RCS-8Vs down; it was not an easy task but handled it brilliantly.

The next step required climbing up a 2.5" mast to replace the DC control wire feeding my Seco-Systems Tornado tuner on the rotary dipole, the trickiest part of the job. A mast step was installed, and Dan handled the task in very safe manner.

Dan then replaced six rusted muffler clamps on my 20m boom-to-mast plate with some new 2.5" plated U-bolts from IIX.

Finally five new coaxes went up the tower and Dan carefully created the proper rotator loop and taped everything up very carefully in a nice neat cable bundle, using high quality materials (Scotch 130C + Scotch Super 33+ or Scotch 88). The rotator loop worked perfectly the first time.

All in all, excellent work, highly recommended. He is just very easy to work with.

Highly Skilled and Great to Work With Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I was very lucky to be able to secure Dan's services. He is intelligent, highly skilled, easy going and fun to work with. I installed my Rohn 45 tower myself but when it came to getting up the 22 foot 110 pound mast and big HF antennas that was way beyond my skill and comfort levels. Enter Dan. He brings with him many many years of experience and confidence. We were able to think through the project on the ground and everything went very smoothly up in the air.

If you need tower work done then Dan will do an excellent job for you. You won't be disappointed.

Thanks for all your help Dan and I will see you on the bands.

Safe and professional work Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
This review consist of two parts. The first part has to do with communications, which at times were unsatisfactory, especially when one is trying to schedule a project such as a tower/yagi installation. I will not rate this aspect any further because I believe it is consistant with all tower installers.

If you want a tower/yagi installation done, and done with real attention to detail and perfection, A1 Towers is an ideal place to have yours done. I, personally, am a stickler for detail and perfection, but Dan exceeds my own personal requirements. He first surveys your situation, then when he returns to do the work for you, he is mentally prepared for every aspect of your installation. Safety is paramount with Dan as he works on your system. Making sure every piece of the installation is not only followed through, but followed through to perfection. I had Dan install a 70' Rohn 45G and then install two huge OptiBeam yagi's on a 23' mast. Watching Dan maneuver the heavy mast into the tower was interesting to watch, But watching Dan, single-handily maneuver each of those large yagi's through the twe sets of guy wires, was amazing. Bring your video camera because you will want to watch that again!

A1 Towers is not inexpensive, but when your job is completed, you certainly come away with the feeling that your money was well spent.

Professional Job Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Dan came up to Columbus, Ga to do work on John, K4BAI's tower. John's tower was initially unsafe to climb. Dan put safety first and came up with an idea to make it safe to work on. Over two weekends Dan re-guyed the tower , switched out a bad rotor and installed a 6 meter beam. I know K4BAI was very happy with the final result.

Successful and safe at KY5R Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I can say that Dan, K1TO of A1 Tower Service has done a great job on my "last hur-ah' antenna system. He is easy to communicate with and knowlegable about all pitfalls of tower and antenna installation. He had a work plan setup before we started and we stuck to the plan almost 100%. His estimate of the job was just about right on barring some unforseen issue which always occur. He uninstalled all antennas on three towers, reguyed all towers and installed 2 stacks on 10-20mtr yagis plus repositioned a 2 el 40mtr yagi.
Project is almost complete as awaiting 3 new Tic-Ring rotors which Dan will install. Oh I provided the ground crew support as I wanted to be involved . We worked in 100deg 95% humidity by the way. Dan stressing safety all the time in these types of condx's allowed the project be safe and successful. Looking forward to final phase of this project in the next few weeks. It has been a very rewarding experience to work with Dan as he has handled all that I asked of him and a little more very effeciently. I can recomend Dan, K1TO and A1 Tower service to any op in need of tower/antenna work in the SE without any reservations. TNX Dan

Excellent job, Dan! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
A couple of months ago, I engaged Dan to remove my current 3el Steppir Yagi, replace a bad rotor, and install a new Force 12 XR5 Yagi on my 74 ft AB105 tower.

Dan arrived the day before the crane arrived and checked out my circumstances and explained how he was going to do the job. He listened carefully and was receptive to my suggestions.

My primary concern was safety, but I needn't have worried as Dan works carefully and doesn't take chances.

Dan worked well with the crane operator and the jobs were performed in logical sequence. There were no glitches or "gotchas."

My new antenna and rotor are in place and working perfectly. I couldn't have asked for better service or a better guy to work with. I'll call him again when my next antenna goes up.

Awesome! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Dan, K1TO, apparently goes anywhere and does whatever needs to be accomplished to get your job done. He was very pleasant to deal with, careful to explain what I needed to do to help, left no question unasked to make sure safety was observed and accomplished the task with a minimum of effort and time. Dan removed my SteppIR antenna from a 60-foot tower by "weaving" the beam through two sets of guys, using a gin pole and me as the "ground guy." Thanks to Dan's expertise and economy of effort, the task was accomplished safely, but quickly. It was both a feeling of great experience and a job well done. (Usual disclaimer: I have no financial interest in A1 Tower Service - just another very happy customer.)
