Treated me right Time Owned: more than 12 months.
After opening up my SK father's TS-50 and realizing that in spite of the fact that fixing complicated machinery is my day job, I just wasn't up to tackling replacing caps and memory battery.

Went to the website, filled out the form, indicated I had a cost limit of $250, and sent the form.

Shortly thereafter, I received an email telling me to just send the unit.

A couple weeks later I received an invoice for $267.

Got the rig back and the first QSO I had with it was Italy!

Rig works great and when I saw the pictures of the repairs it needed, I was beyond glad I hadn't tried to tackle it myself. As it turned out, it needed multiple through-holes repaired from capacitor leakage damage-along with new caps and memory battery.

I am beyond pleased with the experience in every way.

Could not fix my FT-950 Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I took my FT-950 in. The receiver was down 20db and the output was 2 watts.Says it took a RF hit. A few days later says he replaced a couple parts. Then says he doesn't have good schematics. So I go buy another radio to compare trouble shoot $650. Gave him the 2nd rig. Then says original has bad chips on main board cant fix. No charge.
I send the radio to a FT-950 main board repair guy. He finds a diode in the front end. Fixed receiver. Now the main board was butcher in the mars/regional setting jumper area. It had a 50 w tag on the back. He also re flowed a few points on the board. I never opened the radio Original owner. He fixed that along with a relay driver in the final area. It is the opinion of the expert that I didn't get my pristine main board back. Stay away!

outstanding service Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I sent in my Kenwood 570 with a transmit issue and gave him a reasonable price limit of $400.00 (used price running around $600)
He sent me an e-mail and told me he could repair it at the limit plus shipping. I got the radio back 6 days latter and it worked better than new. I believe he did a complete alignment is the process of repair, more than I anticipated. 100% satisfied and very happy with the repair, so much so I am sending him my other Kenwood for his expert repair as well.
Lee is my go to tech for repair issues, I know I can count on him to be 100% honest and forthright with me.

Sent in my backup radio( Kenwood TS-50s) on February 26th 2021, , squealed on receive then warmed up and then ran okay. wanted to get rid of this issue and make it new again. Sent it in for repair, Lee found the problem 2 leaky caps that i could not see or find with a magnifying glass light . it took 2 weeks for parts (considering part issues theses days i ma more than happy) even though the runs were still okay he replaced them to make sure i would not have any more problems down the road, checked and replaced the very hard to find battery on the TS-50S.
Thanks to his hard work and above the call service we are set up for filed day once again.

Excellent repair work Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I sent Lee a fried FT-8800 which he resurrected in quick order at a very reasonable price. Follow his online instructions and you'll have good communications with him and get your frazzled gear back almost "good as new."

"He's dead, Jim!" Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Anything can be fixed, given enough time and money, but many repairs won't make economic sense.
After reverse-volting my FT-891 (Don't ask!), I sent it to Lee. As he asked, I set an upper limit on the repair price that seemed reasonable to me ($250).

After a thorough investigation, Lee found that the main board microprocessor was bad. Yaesu doesn't sell that part, so the whole main board would need replacing. He hasn't bought an FT-891 board yet, but he told me the similar FT-897 board is over $500.

Though I'm sure it took several hours, during which he identified several other blown components, he charged me only for one hour of labor.

One of the most difficult challenges for a repair business is to be honest with customers when a repair is not economically practical. Lee succeeded in spades.

One note, from reading his web page, it looks like he wastes lots of time answering communications from customers. Just fill out the form, including the estimates, and ship the radio. He prefers contact by email, and our communications were prompt and good.

Highly recommended.

Yaesu FT-920 Repair Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Sent my FT-920 to Lee for repairs, it was off frequency and the receive was very dull. Its been at Lee's about 2 weeks and just got it back today.

In true ham fashion I dropped everything and unpacked the radio that I received back in my original packaging, just not as good ;) from lee about an hour ago. I plugged it in and was surprised at the noise level solid 8 and as I scrolled across the band the signals were now on par with my 897 and 847. The signals on the FT-920 were on the average about 2 to 3 s units less than my other radios.

I spoke with Doc WE6A as my first contact after getting the radio back, he's out in California I was at 100Watts from VA and he told me that I was on frequency and it sounded good.

Lee told me that he replaced two bad caps and two problematic caps and topping it off with a cleaning and re-alignment. The price was not bad and included shipping.

The communication from Lee was sparse but sufficient, turn around time was great and the results were what I was hoping for.

Lee will have my business as long as he does repairs!!!!!!

Simply the Best! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Lee restored my ailing Kenwood TS-990S and as a bonus, re-aligned the transceiver to improve sensitivity and selectivity. My Kenwood TS990S transceiver crashed, would not transmit and had erratic functions across all bands and modes.

Now it is running like new!

I wholeheartedly recommend this service as the only Florida-based shop vs returning the transceiver to Kenwood in California. Labor rate is very reasonable and you save $$$ in shipping cost.

GREAT guy Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I asked Lee a technical question about my FT-1000. he went out of his way to accommodate me. He quickly answered all questions and even sent pictures of the electronic sections of my radio for clarification.
If I ever need service, you can bet I will send my equipment to Lee for servicing.
