My first transmitter. Time Owned: more than 12 months.
As a novice, I bought my Eico 723 at a ham fest back in 1968 using my paper route money. Still have it, the transmitter, not the paper route, and last time I used, a few years ago, it still runs well. I noticed they placed one on the back desk of one of the old B&W Andy Griffith/Mayberry show set. They were using it as their Sheriff Department radio. With a simple wire antenna, I've made multiple contacts with mine and the contacts indicated 5-9-9 often remarking that it had a really clean, pure CW note. My plan is to re-cap it and bring it back on air later this year (2022). Power efficiency is low (30%) as would be expected with a sweep tube based final, but you still get 20 watts out or so. As the other reviewer indicated, it is a heavy piece of equipment though quite compact.

Great boat anchor Time Owned: more than 12 months.
The venerable 723 was my first Novice transmitter back in 1963. I still have it and added a 722 VFO when I upgraded my license to use one...still have a few old crystals though. These rigs were built like a good BA should be, like a brick! Still runs great and I fire it up once in a while just for fun.
