Great Speaker Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I had been looking for a quality external speaker for awhile. After being continually disappointed, I found one of these used for half the price what they current sell for new and took a chance. I'm glad I did, I can hear stations every bit as well as I do with quality headphones without having to crank the volume way up. The depth and clarity of the sound is fantastic. The speaker is physically very large but that just signals a big magnet and quality to me! I wish it was smaller but I'll take performance first!

Nothing compares to this speaker Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I cannot think of any speaker that sounds as good as this one, and I have tried many. I am very picky about audio, especially on HF. The SP30H produces punchy, full, mellow sound and ameliorates the "hash" or white noise - it is rated to provide 70 to 7,000 hz audio, can take high power up to 20 watts. The bass is perfect to my ear, that is to say low frequencies sound excellent and full without being mushy or boomy. The matching speakers for HF radios, to me, sound awful and "thin", some are too boomy, even with stuffing or padding from Phenomena. When I bought mine they were about $200, now they are $295. But I would not hesitate buying at today's price, it's that good.

Great sound Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have tried several of the radio manufacture speakers in the past and none of them compare to the SP30H. I have 2 of these in the shack and 1 in the mobile. I highly recommend this speaker for communication quality sound.

Excellent!! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
This is a top of the line speaker designed for mid-range response. I use it on a DMR mobile radio to fill my entire shack with rich, full audio. It almost sounds as if the person you are listening to is next to you. Those annoying high frequencies are simply not there.

There was a little too much bass response for my liking, so I ordered a 300 Hz @ 8 ohm bass blocker from Amazon (order PAC BB-2PR). It did the trick after placing it in-line (in series) with the positive (red) speaker wire.

I am having too much fun enjoying this great speaker. Get one!

great speaker Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I just bought a icom 7610 that has redundant receivers .I already had a SP30H and was comparing it to a stereo speaker after awhile the stereo was hard to listen to because of the highs.I really enjoyed listening to the mellow Palstar speaker,I enjoy it so much I bought another SP30H. I think the investment was well worth it. I can listen at very low levels and not disturb the XYL at night.

Like it so much I bought a second one. Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
It is hard to add anything to what has already been said. Bottom line, if you want a high quality speaker then this is it. I liked the first one I bought so much I bought a second one and am using them to take advantage of the two channel audio out from my Flex-6700.

One note, if you have line level out from your radio you will need an audio amplifier like the Rolls MA252 or similar. This is what I am using and with it I can run the audio from my Flex-6700 and mix in the audio from my computer through the amp to the speakers.

They are fairly big, but the sound is great and really makes listening at low volume (to avoid disturbing the XYL) a pleasure. Higher volumes are good too if you really need to dig out a faint signal. What others have said is true, I hear as well with these as I do with my RadioSport headset.

Expensive, but worth it IMHO.

73!

Not a better Speaker out there Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I've owned a lot of the big three HAM external speakers, BOSE speakers, and lots of junk speakers. They all work, some better than others. The big Palstar is perfect. Sound is clear, nothing added, nor taken away.

Has many different connection choices on the back. Very well made, solid. I just saw on the Palstar web site a new SP30 that is over $300, "better" speaker and a piano finish..I'm good with the 30H.

Simply the Best! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Over the past 36 years, I have been enjoying the Ham Radio Hobby, the Palstar SP30H Speaker is the best I have ever heard. Over the years, I have had many Speakers. The SP30H beats them all hands down. It helps to make the Stations with poor audio sound better. I now have two of these Speakers in my Shack and my only regret is that I did not buy them sooner.

Great Speaker! Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
Easily the best speaker I've used to date. Good tones throughout. I bought mine when I suffered a stroke in early 2015 and my hearing seemed to be effected. The day it arrived I never looked back, a pleasure to listen to! Brilliant for CW, put those headphones away!

Excellent Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
This is a super speaker.
Its sound quality is superb, I very seldom have to use the muffs even with QRN.
It is also a very nice appearing speaker.
Highly recommended by this OM with poor ears.
