I purchased the Honeywell TN924W to replace the Acu-Rite 00594W as it didn't work properly for the year that it was in operation. This Honeywell weather station is a big improvement.

It has a couple of features the old weather station did not have. One is a rain gage. It also has a feature that allows one to view current conditions and weather history on a computer with the provided weather station software. The large back lit display is a plus too.

The software that comes with the weather station however, does not allow you to upload weather data to the internet. But there are a couple of non-OEM applications that do work with the TN924W. This other software can be downloaded from the Honeywell support website and works well.

One out of the box problem I had with it was a bad temperature sensor. It was off by 4 degrees. A quick email to the Honeywell support center yielded a new sensor in the mail the following day. The weather station now functions as it should.

Customer service seems good. A few operational questions caused me to make a couple of phone calls to Honeywell. They were very helpful.

My only complaint about the weather station is the user interface. Most of the controls are on the rear. But once set you do not need to tinker with them. And if you're using a computer to interface with it some of the setup can be done using a computer USB interface.

Sensors seem to work sufficiently. They are about 90 feet from the receiver. The receiver is located in the shack which is below ground. And the system appears to be accurate.

The built-in weather radio and alert system works quite well also.

The MSRP states $349.00. This unit can be purchased for $199.00 from Ambient Weather. Occasionally, Ambient Weather throws in a freebie with this package. In my case they threw in an extra temperature sensor.

If you're going to spend up to $100.00 on what amounts to a toy, I suggest spend the additional $100 and purchase this weather station instead and purchase it from Ambient Weather to get a decent deal. By the way, the Ambient Weather people are good to deal with as well.
