Serves the purpose Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
This does exactly what it was designed to do, allow the use of different microphones with radios the mic isn't wired for without having to rewire the mic plug. Specifically I am using a mic that is wired for a Yaesu 8 pin radio with an Icom 7100 radio. It works great and the instructions were sufficient to accomplish the proper configuration. I think MFJ makes other models that allow for more flexibility in terms of number of radios and/or mics it supports if you need that capability. I for one am glad MFJ is around and continues to provide the amateur community with accessories that are not available elsewhere.

It works Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
It does what it's designed to do. I use it to interconnect a Shure 552 microphone with a round 8 pin connector to a Yaesu FT900CAT which uses a modular style 8 pin connector. It would be impossible to attach an 8P8C (RJ45) modular connector directly to the Shure's cable because of cable and it's conductor size.

Matches one microphone to one radio. Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
The device does match microphones of varying types to my designated radio, but what I actually wanted to be able to do was plug two Yaesu mics -- one with a modular connector and one with an 8 pin round connector -- into the modular and 8-pin connectors on the front of the unit and use them both with the same Yaesu radio. Unfortunately, the unit will NOT allow that. Thus, in my case, there's no way to use a Yaesu PTT modular hand mic sometimes and my Heil headset with Yaesu 8 pin round plug at other times. You'd THINK MFJ would have thought of this, creating a merged pathway for the two types of connectors, but you'd be WRONG. The only use for this little box is to match ONE mic to ONE radio -- nothing more.
