Review Summary For : Azden - PCS2800
Reviews: 3MSRP: 200
Description:
This rare 10 meter FM transceiver is capable of 10 watts of output power from 28.0 to 29.7 Mhz on either split (repeater)or simplex operation. (not sure why you would want an FM only rig to output on 28.0 but this one can) The front panel is removable to let you put the radio under the seat or in the trunk if you have the optional interconnection cable. The supplied microphone has controls for volume, squelch and channel up and down.
I purchased this radio new in 1988. I have used it for more than 20 years without any problems. When the band is open, working the ten meter repeaters along the US Pacific coast from here in South Africa with ten watts from my car is quite a thrill.

Great Rig Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Picked this up at a local hamfest about 15 years ago for 40 bucks in as new condition from a guy who used to work for Azden as their US rep. I have used it on and off over the years, it's a great rig. I have to get it out of the closet and hook it up again! Only thing that it's missing is PL tone but that's easy enough to add. Azden radios were built like tanks and I still see them around. They never cracked into "the big three" territory, but they can be found cheaply and most of them still work.

Good radio for it's intended purpose Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Owned this rig back in the early 90's. Used it as a 10 meter remote radio on my UHF repeater. Easy to interface, program and good all around, well built rig. I'd like to find another as they have just enough channels to scan the repeaters and two simplex frequencies.

Compaired to todays flood of bogus 10 meter radios, the Azden PCS2800 is FAR above them in quality!!! If you have a choice between one of the garbage 10/11 meter radios and an old Azden PCS2800, get the Azden!

Basic rig with very few bells and whistles. Easy to use when mobile.
