Gets the job done Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
Bought this at a hamfest last July, and immediately went to the parking lot, hooked it up to my FT100D, and worked Florida on 6 meters. Used it the next day for the CQVHF contest, and made several 6 meter contacts while mobile, including Michigan and Tennessee. It also performs very well on 2 meters, getting into repeaters 50 miles away or so on my HT. The magnet holds very well at all highway speeds-and the speed limit in OK is 75 mph. No reason to pay more for an antenna when this gets the job done.

Good 2M/6M Antenna on the cheap. Time Owned: more than 12 months.

If I could give a 4.9 I would have, but only
for one reason, and it's just a nit- sometimes, the center conductor of the nmo base has a tendency to lose contact with the dot on the other side of the mount- so simply bend conductor
tab out a little bit, and all is well.

Speaking of NMO connectors, if you choose later on to upgrade your vehicle to permanent mounts, you can easily just screw the top of this onto a larsen or other brand nmo mount, and you don't lose much of your initial investment.

As far as performance is concerned it's your
everyday vanilla 5/8 wave antenna. Something like an SG2000 or a 7900 will beat it, but it's
still unbeatable for the money. At the price these things sell for everyone should own at
least one; they make great spares at a minimum.

Why spend more? Time Owned: more than 12 months.
If you don't mind a mag-mount 5/8's wave antenna, this one may be for you. I purchased mine from AES in Milwaukee for $9.95 out of the scratch & dent section. It replaced a $50 5/8's wave Cushcraft mag-mount. It works as good as any 2 meter mobile antenna, and have worked plenty of nation-wide dx on 6 meters. SWR for 50,125mhz is 1 over 1.4. I have had it for three years and it keeps on ticking! I challange you to do better for the money. If you are MFJ shy, don't worry about this one.

A great antenna Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have owned four of these antennas (on three cars) over the last six years and dollar for dollar they are the best. They are very well made, even better made than some antennas that I have paid $80 for. The magnet holds the antenna securely even at 85 mph and off road. They last for years even in harsh conditions. It handles 300 watts and its on-air performance is second to none.
