Review Summary For : OptiBeam OB5-20 (High Performance 5el monoband Yagi 20m)
Reviews: 2MSRP: 2,300
Description:
The OB5-20 is a modern computer optimized 5 element wide spaced OWA design for the 14 MHZ range.
Gain and pattern are stable across the entire 20m band and represent the absolute optimum to be achieved on this 15 meter (almost 50 foot) long boom.
The SWR is extremely flat from the beginning up to the end of the band.
The entire construction (boom, elements) is extra heavy duty. The boom is square and makes the assembly a snap as well as it makes it impossible that the elements will turn on the boom even under highest winds.
This is the 20m monoband Yagi for the OM and the contester with extremely high demands.
Product is in production

Majestic Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I'm not going to rebate what Tom, owner of the Optibeam has said regarding specifications of the this antenna but rather I will talk about my own experience. The OB5-20 is awesome & beauty both on performance and construction wise. It generates a killer signal while its only coupled with a one KW amp at 30 meters high at my beach house south of Kuwait on the sure line of the Arabian Gulf. The antenna has a clear shot to the horizon and reception is more than great. SWR is flat all the way.

Installation at LA9Z/LN9Z contest station Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
The antenna was acquired and installed in the summer of 2009 at LA9Z/LN9Z contest station on the very windy, but superb QTH of Lista, Norway, JO38HC. You can see pictures on LA9Z/LN9Z web: http://www.radiosporting.net/la9z/content/view/51/42/
The antenna was selected for the combination of its top rank performance and rugged design.
The antenna (used with a 1 kW linear) breakes any pilup and generates the contest runs we need to reach our goal of WW top 10 listing in the major contests.
Although this has not been the most windy winter / storm season we have experienced on Lista, Norway, the antenna seems to stand firm in the wind, - so far...
So, we're still happy :-)
