Review Summary For : N8BX - Weighted VFO Knob For Elecraft
Reviews: 53MSRP: $89
Description:
The original K2 knob weighs in around 2 ounces. These premium USA made knobs weigh 6-1/2 ounces and they tune just wonderful. This knob is made of heavy alloy Steel and coated with a durable baked-on Black enamel or buffed bronze. The black goes great with the radio and feels nice in the hand. No sharp corners to irritate your hands.
Installation is easy and all hardware is Stainless Steel. Everything is CNC Machined from billet stock right here in the USA. The set screw that holds the knob in place is a flat tip style (no marring of your VFO shaft). Your satisfaction is 100% guaranteed 30 days or you may return it for a full refund.
Knob Specs:

Weight 6.5 Ounces, accepts 6mm diameter shaft, #6-32 set screw (use 1/16" Hex Key wrench also available for $2.00 additional).
Product is in production

Great investment Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I am very impressed with the quality, I ordered the knobs for my K3 and K2. I did have some questions for Fred and was amazed at how fast he responded.(10-15 min's). I have been very pleased with the response on the knobs on my K3. During contests they were very smooth and the machining of these knobs is fantastic. Very good product and but only improves the already great K3 and K2.
GREAT product Fred!!!

Smooth!!!!!!!!!!! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Now my quality K-2 FEELS like a quality transceiver since I purchased the N8BX Bronze knob. The Bronze took a bit of time to get used to looking at but the feel of it is marvelous. After just a few hours it fits the looks of the K-2 just fine. At 118 bucks it was not cheap but I would rate it a good value anyway. I have a radio that cost $1800 in kit form in my configuration and the VFO felt worse than the cheapest YaeuKenIcoLinco ever made. No more! It feels great to be able to Spin the dial now.

Nice K2 Addition Time Owned: N.A.
The weighted VFO knob gives the Elecraft K2 VFO a needed polish. The VFO is now tuned rather than pushed around the band. The finish is less glossy than what appears on the web site, more of a satin finish close to the front panel area behind the knob. The dimple is rather small but this is a minor issue as I typically tune by rolling my index finger around the circumference of the knob. I have never been a fan of dimples or hand cranks on a VFO.

While the price may seem high much of the time spent at a radio is tuning so nice is worth the money in this area. Besides an optioned up $1000 QRP rig is not cheap either.
