Good radio, has a few quirks Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I received this radio from a friend as a project, a sort of "if you can convert it, it's yours" so I did
and found it very easy to program once I borrowed a 500 some odd mhz computer (only slower computers with DOS running on them can program this) and added a programming cable. There was no fiddling with the hardware for this one, I hear sometimes it is required though. My one problem with it is the lack of documentation and I seem to have inadvertently activated some sort of scan function or something, with the radio flipping through channels 3 and 4 and skipping 4 every time I try to flip past 3 or 5...it is very easy to find the service manual but the operators manual has eluded me thus far. For this I give it a rating of 4.
