Great Radio Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I owned a 375A and ended up selling it when my son was in college. It seemed his education was more important than me being on 222 MHz.at the time. I finally found another mint IC-375A and it is a classic. As a part of the XX75 series it is rock solid, performs well on all modes and is the only stand-alone all mode transceiver for 222 produced. Only the FT-736R was close, and that was a module for the 736. The receiver is sensitive, meets specs and the power (26 watts) is enough to drive a high power amplifier. If you find one--buy it!

A gem from the past. Time Owned: more than 12 months.
The Icom IC-375A gives the operator a well laid-out front panel that makes it a joy to use. Adjust the controls and you will feel the quality of this transceiver. The technology and design may be from the eighties, but it has stood the test of time and continues to deliver impressive performance. As the other reviewers noted, with its many positive attributes, you will not be disappointed. Unfortunately, given it's relative rarity, it can be quite elusive to locate and expensive when found.

I must mention that 222 MHz, in many areas of the United States, is an underutilized band. Hopefully, that will change as new offerings enter the markert. At my location, CM89, other than the occasional VHF contest, there is little activity on the band. Mondays at 2000 local, there are about a dozen or so of us, making some noise on 222.100. If you have a transverter based or multi-mode rig for the band, please feel free to jump in and join us.

Nice! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
This is a very rare radio to find, but I was fortunate to locate one to purchase. The IC-375A is very solid, and has a nice tight feel to it. The frequency display is bright and easy to read. Receive audio is superb. The receiver sensitivity of the Yaesu FT-736R seems to be a "hair" better than the IC-375A on 222 MHz. Although it is extremely close. If you enjoy 222 MHz, I highly recommend that you purchase an IC-375A if you can find one.

An oldie but a goodie Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I purchased this rig brand new in 1989 from HRO on a closeout special. I have used it continuously since that time and it is a truely outstanding rig. It performs flawlessly on FM and on SSB with a nice tight receiver. Weak signal work is great! All functions and lamps on this radio are still working normally after 14 years of operation. The UT-34 Tone Squelch unit is a must (If you can find one) in crowded areas like Southern California. Rig also has a built in power supply for "Plug and Play" operation and will operate on 12v as well.
