The best headset I have ever used period! The Pro set elite commercial headphones rock . The number 6 mic element gets me unsolisted comments on my audio . The headset is very comfortable and still does a great job attenuating outside noise. get a pair you will be very happy . all the best John kb2huk

The rig is a Yaesu FTdx9000D. I have been using a MD-200A8X mic with mixed reports on various settings so I decided to try the new HPSE6 fitted to the XLR patch lead I put together but what audio settings to use so I tried the HEIL web site recommendations with a reduction in mic gain and proc. with the ssb-tx-bpf set to a width of 100-2900. On air reports have been fantastic. best audio they have heard .what mic is that? etc etc.
so would I recommend this mic. YOU BET. fantastic.

Unlike my previous headset that arrived with 2 faults....the PSE6 arrived in 100% condition.

First improvement was the cable is now a curly cord rather than a long cable that my size twelves kept ripping to schreds everytime I got up from the operating position.

Secondly with my ProsetPlus which is an amazing headset my FT2000 TX audio had to be set to default factory settings for me to experience the effects and differences of the HC4 and HC5 elements. However with the HC6 element in the new set the FT2000 does the work for the element and I must tell you even though there are those that will always slate the FT2000 mine makes me sound like a Broadcast station with the HC6.

What a headset.

I will keep my ProsetPlus and PSQP4 for my other rigs but the HC6 is now at my main operating position.

I've worn alot of so called professional studio headsets over the years and find the new Heil Pro Set Elite to be a joy to wear. Picking the headset up for the first time you can feel the quality in both the frame and headset assembly. The phase reverse capability helps with fatigue while listening over long periods. The best part is that the transmit audio quality equals my other Heil Boom microphones so there is no compromise wearing the headphone/microphone combo. A leap in design and comfort for the amateur radio operator. Good value and quality in these down economic times. So impressed with my purchase, I had to buy a second one for the VHF/UHF SSB side of the shack too!

The new PSE6 from Heil Sound ,Commercial quality Lite weight headset I have ever used . Audio reports Have been great , If you own a Ten TEC this Mic make that Orion II sound Like a Collins . There are some great Intro prices on this head set I purchased it 139.95 Plus shipping (9.95) Also you can wear it all day ! Remeber the PR40 they sold 190.00 at Dayton Now there over 300. Bob has again set the bar Higher Buy one before the price gos out sight. Now you can have your DX audio and ESSB audio. With a head set!

I'm an audiophile and generally prefer smooth sounding audio but I also need a mic that can emulate the classic response of the HC-5 and HC-4 elements.

I've been waiting for Heil to come out with a headset that has great full range audio. The wait is over. Heil's Pro-Set Elite (PSE) headset with HC-6 element has great low end response ( more than the HC-5 or other communications microphones),yet it can sound like a HC-5 or HC-4 using the transmit filters and equalization settings in just about all modern radios.

I've used the PSE attached directly to my FLEX 5000 and with my Icom 7600. I've also used it with W2IHY equipment. The bottom line is simply great transmit audio for any operating condition.

The headphones reproduce the receive audio exceptionally well; the big cushioned speakers easily block out unwanted noise.

I've used a variety of headsets over 50 years, some very expensive. I was never satisfied UNTIL the arrival of the Pro-Set Elite.

In summary, if you want the ultimate in headsets, the Heil Pro-Set Elite is the way to go.
