Complex to setup, works great Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
To add blue-tooth to the VX8-DR you need to buy the blue-tooth kit - the adapter, charger and headset. I have the BH-2A which, confusingly is the mono version. I had heard the stereo BH-1A was not so good. Configuration is via menus and pairing. Once you figure out how to mount the headset on your left ear it fits comfortably. VOX HIGH works as expected - silent with breathing and regular sounds, activated as soon as you speak. Audio is still low, but finally clearly discernible for the VX8-DR.

Perfect companion for the FTM-350 Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Picked up the Yaesu FTM-350 at the Austin SummerFest 2010, along with several accessories include the BU-1 and BH-1A.

I really like how pressing the PTT button on the FTM-350 control head activates the BH-1A mic when it is powered on.

Initial audio reports were that my transmitted audio was too high. After a quick adjustment in the FTM-350, I got perfect reports.

The range is as advertised and typical for a bluetooth headset (10 meters or less).

Note: The BH-2A has the capability of adjusting the mic gain by pressing PTT and +/-.
