Description:
Improved High Frequency Radio set. R/T 1209A, Audio amp AM6879/URC, RF high power amp AM6545, antenna coupler CU2064A. the system operates 26.5 VDC nominal and is fully automaic in operation only needing the frequency entered the power level and mode set(USB/LSB/CW/DATA). the antenna coupler will tune anything from a 16 foot whip to a longwire including all the 50 ohm antennas. Looks like a buch of green boxes all cabled up but it really works great. Little pricy but does a very nice job.
Product is not in production

What a rig Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I have been fortunate to have the opertiunity to play with various military rigs, and this is one of the nicest ones around. Uses the R/T of the PRC 104, and then amplifiers the output up to 400 watts PEP. In reality the amp puts out well over 400 watts, some people report 550 PEP. although not a contest type station, has a very powerful recieve and a transmitter with lots of punch, gets the job done. Hughes and Harris did a very nice job developing this rig. If you can find one, it is worth getting it up and running you will be pleased and suprised.
