The MLB contains a special impedance matching transformer, which converts any piece of wire between 6 and 20 metres long into a wide-band receiving antenna, without the need for an antenna tuner. It is a simple and effective solution to many antenna problems.

Excellent Balun for Shortwave Listening			Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have owned this balun since 2006. It has worked very well in this time, eliminating all kinds of noise and interference on the Shortwave broadcast bands. Highly recommended. Buy one today!

good mechanics			Time Owned: more than 12 months.
This is a must for SWL since at least two decades. Rf-Systems was probably the first firm to build a high quality transformer with a very wide bandwidth optimized for SWL. I have had it for several years. I had used it in a variety of configurations indoor and outdoor. Compared to the MTFT sold by Wimo this is mechanically sturdy made and I have the impression it receives better especially at the lower bands MW and LF. My Wimo disassembled itself over a few years. This appears to be rock solid. I repaired my Wimo balun. My MLB has died now and it seems very difficult to open and repair. It looks just too well made! Ok it died in the end, but after many years. I made myself many ununs and baluns, however I recognize that this small transformer is very convenient. Put it up everywhere you want, use good wire that does not make rust. It will work for years and yaers.
