Description:
MultiScan is amateur radio software for receiving and sending Slow
Scan Television (SSTV) pictures. It runs on PowerPC or Intel Mac with
1GHz+ processor. Program is build for Mac OS X Leopard and will not
run on earlier versions of Mac OS. MultiScan supports the following
analog SSTV formats (digital SSTV is not supported):
Robot 8/12/24/36 seconds Monochrome
Robot 12/24/36/72 seconds Color
Scottie 1 - 4 , DX and DX2

MultiScan supports USB and FireWire video cameras as image source.
Images can also be opened from file or dragged and dropped from
iPhoto.
MultiScan can save images in various formats, add them to iPhoto
Library and send them to Mobile Me Gallery.

When I am not in the shack, I often run MultiScan unattended and
whenever it receives SSTV images it posts them to My Gallery.
Product is in production

Easy to set up, but that's it... Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
This is a great looking program for the Mac to do SSTV. Easy to configure and set up images to transmit. The only thing this program is lacking is a way to transmit. The developer says to use cocoaPTT, but that hasn't been updated since 2009 and since then there are radios that can connect directly to a computer without the need for any interfacing hardware. I can't get cocoaPTT to work.

I can use QSTJ-X and FLDigi perfectly fine with a USB to USB connection, directly between my Yaesu FT991 and my iMac.

I can't transmit. Been asking around on a few ham radio Facebook pages and the new Mac subforum on QRZ, but no luck yet.

Someone has to have a solution. And this program needs a good update.

Nice & Easy SSTV Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
KD6CJI has written another solid piece of software for Mac OSX. This time he has written Multiscan for SSTV. Allows you to autosave images, and easily generate CQ, QSO, TNX & 73 images.

It takes a little getting use too, however once you get it, your golden.

So if your looking for SSTV for the Mac, Sergei's Multiscan is nice & easy to use.
