Better Options out there Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Be carefull using it with HRD. It has a prolific chipset. Works fine for keying my rigblaster M8 but failed miserably when driving my CW keyer or interfacing to a ERC rotator controller.
I finally broke down and bought a real serial card for those functions. If you have to use a USB to serial convertor buy one with a FTDI chipset.

It works with Yaesu Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Convertor works great.

Just wish the rs232 end had an option of being female. Gender changer mating to back of ft2000 had to have the outer shield and screws removed to plug in but thats not the item in review.

Now ony if these convertor companies would make port sharing part of the system or driver.

Very useful Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
This USB-Serial cable solved my problem with computer control of a Kenwood TS-570S. Easy setup with an included CD of drivers. Drivers for Windows XP can be obtained from http://www.usglobalsat.com/download/546/win_drivers.zip
Unzipping the file brings up an installer that saves the drivers to C:/Windows/prefetch. Plugging the cable into the computer makes the connection and you are on your way. I've currently got HRD and DX4WIN functioning under computer control with the transceiver.
