Nice-Color scheme has changed. Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
The ONLY nit I have to pick is the faceplate color scheme change. Most distributors show pics of the face being dark black like the pic shown above, however Palstar has changed to a charcoal grey faceplate. Not what I wanted when ordered and I was a bit disappointed. Now for my review...Great tuner. Easy to tune, never arced on me with up to 800 watts. Not as wide ranged as my Ten Tec 238C L- network tuner, but I didn't need any more range than what I got. A bit pricey but solid build and should last a long time with proper use / maintenance. 73.

Great tuner Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have had my AT2k for 4 years now and never had a problem, the tuner does what it`s supposed to do. It simply just works, great quality, highly recommend.

Works very nice! In service for 7 years now. Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I bought this used AT2KD for a spare as I needed to do some service work to my now 12-year-old AT-Auto that I use on my 140' non-resonant ladder line fed dipole. Well, the work went well, the AT-Auto is back in business, but I liked the ease of retuning with the AT2KD's single differential capacitor so well I put it on the 240' nonresonant dipole and the AT2K that I have used for 2 years on that antenna has become the spare. Don't get me wrong, the AT2K is a great tuner, but the AT2KD is easier to use, at least with my antennas. I use it from 160-10 meters so I can't comment on it's six meter capabilities. I have the antenna system configured with an external 4:1 5kw rated balun on the outside wall with a 5 foot run of LMR400 to the AT2KD. It handles full legal limit output just fine with no issues so far.

Highly Recommended Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
All I have are 2 antennas, an 80 meter vertical loop and a g5rv jr . This AT2KD tunes the loop from 80 meters all up to 10 meters and the g5rv from 40 meter up to 10. And 6 meters too.
Cw qso's with Europe and Asiatic Russia with 100 watts so no performance loss.
That's all.

The best tuner I've ever owned Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
In my rather long amateur radio career I've owned a number of antenna tuners, both manual and automatic, and honestly believe the Palstar AT2KD is the most versatile of any of them. The AT2KD's tuning range is very wide and I have yet to find an antenna it is unable to match. Plus the unit has a quality build and is assembled in the U.S.A., thus helping to maintain job opportunities in this country. Features include full coverage from 160-6 meters, multiple and switch selectable outputs, LED meter lighting, and a very accurate peak reading watt/swr meter. Once you determine the settings for a particular antenna, you can manually return to that point almost as fast as an automatic tuner can do so. Highly recommend.

Overall Very Impressive - Great Quality Tuner Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Great quality, great looking and works as advertised. Very high quality of workmanship. Very reasonably priced 2,000 watt turner for this high degree of quality. Very easy to match on 160m-6m on my EFHW antenna with 160' wire hung out of my 2nd story window. Matches better than any other tuner I have ever used. My first manual tuner. Easily and quickly matches a 1:1 SWR where other tuners cannot. Very impressive. This one is a keeper.

Great Tuner - Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I have owned a Palstar AT2K for about ten years. I decided add a second tuner for my most recent amp and the AT2kD was a good match and because it is a differential tuner, it has only one knowband is very simple to tune.

The AT2KD works great. Like the AT2K, the AT2KD is built like a tank and can tune my antennas to 1.0:1 with ease. The worst SWR that it produced was 1.3:1 an antenna that is not even close to resonance on that band. Even the AT2K can't get the SWR any lower on that band.

Everything about this tuner is first class. From the ceramic antenna switch to the overall design, to the fit and finish. Palstar products are made in America. If you have a question, which I did, you can call and talk to Candy who is the lady who builds the AT2kD tuners. Try that with some Chinese manufactured product.

After ten years of hard use, my AT2K, is still going strong. I suspect that the AT2KD will hold up well too.

great tuner Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I have owned many tuners , starting with at2k and at2kd both great tuners sold them for auto tuners starting with LDG1000 ,sold the LDG bought the new Palstar auto-tune 1800 watt (GREAT TUNER) and a MFJ-998 which is a nice tuner for the money but failed in the first 30 days which Hank at MFJ is handling. So my experience with MFJ service has been positive ( thank you Hank ) and lets not beat up MFJ, over my years with ham radio I have have my share of problems with all radio equipment from many different manufactures. Back to the review I'm sorry I sold the at2kd I think overall the best tuner I have ever owned SO WHEN AND BOUGHT ANOTHER NEW ONE...I know its dumb to own three tuners but I will never sell my at2kd again. Simple to tune, tunes my zero five vertical on 17-20-40 and 80 with a 1-1 match ( its not a 80 meter antenna ) hope this helps others. 73

Best manual tuner I've used. Excellent customer service. Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
Wish I'd replaced my ATR-30 sooner. Easy to use. High quality construction and materials. Fits on a shelf.

Customer service is excellent. Very patient with my dumb questions about matching networks, balanced feed lines and baluns.
