A great way to learn Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I’ve had a great deal of fun with these little kits. I started out building simple things just to get used to the boards and seeing how each one worked. They are essentially the blocks of a block diagram and when plugged into one another become a receiver, transmitter or a transceiver. You can make a simple device or a complex device much the same way you put together an Erector Set. I’ve also combined them with other boards that I’ve built and put together some fairly exotic devices (search ak2b on YouTube for my ‘Bit-O-Bitx’ SSB transceiver or go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AB3x48o10bo for my Parts and Kits receiver).
The standard board is 1.2 by 1.9 inches. You can connect the boards by soldering or use standard .1 inch headers with jumpers.
I think this is an excellent way for someone to get their feet wet in constructing and learning about RF circuitry.
