The RS60CF-10A Headset is Excellent Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
After a couple of telephone conversations with Dave at Radio Sport, I ordered my RS60CF-10A boom-mic headset and am extremely pleased with its quality of construction, fit, finish and performance.

I am using the headset with the electret boom-mic on my Icom IC7610. After EQing the mic on the air with the help of two savvy buddies, W9BMW and K7FD, I’m convinced the electret mic offers lots of output and articulate audio without the need for compression. Some adjustment of the transmit bandwidth and the transmit EQ base and treble made the sound of my voice natural and articulate.

The headphones are comfortable for me since I always wear glasses and the rich reproduction with a cutoff above 6KC made hour after hour listening a pleasure.

Yes, these are expensive! No doubt about it for a guy who wore Heil Proset headphones for years and suffered ear pain with the cheap plastic ear pads slowly deteriorating into little pieces. But, the quality, the construction, the sheer performance of the RS60CF-10A……well, you get what you pay for, pal.

So, if you’re really into ham radio, be it SSB, AM, or CW, you will not regret making the investment in this quality boom-mic headset! It works for me!

Too heavy for me Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
Well made and good audio quality but too heavy and uncomfortable for me. Started to pressure my head around my ears resulting in discomfort in less then an hour.

1st Impressions Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I have been a long time fan of the usual brand of headsets in this hobby. A recent experience of one of their latest products found me looking for something else.
I am always looking to progress and improve the station here wherever possible.
The Radiosport offerings, based on the fantastic reviews, was all the encouragement i needed to find the UK distributor and get on board with this exciting product and find out if the claims stack up.
The quick answer is YES.
I use an ICOM IC-7800 and this headset is very well suited to the radio and my voice it seems.
The user experience is exceptional with excellent comfort, even with extended use, during contest conditions.

Hands down, the best Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Without a doubt, the most comfortable headset I have ever owned. And I've had Heil, Sony, David Clark, and many others. You'll have to pry these from my cold, SK hands.

Tripped up by a cord! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
The Radiosport RS-20S (stereo) headphone set is a quality product, as the previous reviews have described. Of course headphone fit and audio performance is a individual user matter, and no one device could satisfy everyone. Nevertheless this reviewer is very satisfied with his ‘phones, except for a small matter.

Upon receipt of the headset (which purchase was rapid and very satisfactory), I noticed that the audio output in the phones was significantly lower than it was for a pair of conventional Sony entertainment headphones on the same audio input. I initially assumed this lower audio was due to the higher impedance of the miniature speakers in the Radiosport and I continued using them.

As I did I noticed that with no input signal present, when I rubbed the plastic covering of the supplied Radiosport connecting cable I could hear a small amount of audio noise in the headset. Additionally, when the headset was used for conventional one channel receiving of a monaural source, the source occasionally spontaneously appeared to swap channels (left to right) for a short while.

I called Dave and explained the situation to him. He replied that the cables were made of the best commercial grade materials, and the effects that I noticed just were not possible for his product. He was certainly quite interested in the problem, but he did not offer a solution.

Some months later, on a whim, I decided to check out the supplied (detachable) connecting cable with a straightforward end-to-end ohmmeter test. The two “hot channel” conductors (“left” and “right”) checked close to zero ohms each. The common (“ground”) conductor, however showed about forty ohms end-to-end, and the measured value constantly changed with time and cable movement. I verified the test with two different DVMs.

Since I had already talked to Dave about the problem, I did not file a warranty claim. Instead I purchased a standard 3.5mm to 3.5 mm double male TRS audio cable and put that into service. All of the problems disappeared, and the headphones are working normally.

The RS-20S is still a fine product, comparable in performance to the David Clark headphones which I also use, and I value having it. If you purchase one, however, check out the connecting cable when it arrives.

Great Headset, Best Customer Service Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I was looking for a headset to use during the 2022 ARRL DX SSB Contest and was undecided between the Radiosport and the Heil headset. I decided to give Arlan Communications a call to ask some questions about their product. To my surprise, Dave WI6I answered the call and clarified all my questions in a friendly and professional manner. When I explained that I wanted the headsets for the Contest that was a week away, he made arrangements for me to get the items on time, something many suppliers struggle to do in this pandemic times.

The quality of the headset, cables and accessories is top notch. Quality gel cups and soft fabric covers are standard. As a private helicopter pilot, I have used David Clark and Bose headsets for many years and many hours, and was very surprised at how confortable the Radiosport are. I made around 2,000 QSOs with them and never thought about them. A clear sign of confort! Audio quality and isolation are great.

I definitely recommend them to anyone looking for quality headsets. As I wrote to Dave after the contest, the only way to improve on the service is for him to personally deliver and setup the headset. As far as improving the headset, I cannot think of anything I would change. Great product from a company that still believes in personal customer service!!!

Best headset ever! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have 2 pair of these phenomenal headsets; I just had the older one re-miced with the same microphone as my new one, and they are excellent!

They are comfortable to use for long periods of time, have excellent response quality for both the headphones and the mic.

I particularly like the stereo aspect; if your rig supports this, you can have the DX station in one ear and your calling frequency in the other, or when using diversity receive, one antenna/receiver to each ear - a big help for me.

On top of that, customer service is excellent, with fast turn-around and good communication.

I love mine!! Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I rarely do reviews, but I really love this headset. I have the 10th-anniversary model RS60CF-10A with cables for my Elecraft, Yaesu, and Icom radios. Being able to switch around so easily is great!! And the audio quality is superb, both in and out. They recently changed the mic element to be better for rag chewing because with the newer generation of radios we can customize the output frequency response so there is no need to limit it at the mic element. I won't bother with details because they are all on the website. The quality is wonderful.
