The Best Communication Headset I Have Owned or Tried Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I have been in Amateur Radio for 44 years (1968), and that includes three years in the US Army Signal Corp Satellite Communications Equipment Repair program. During this time I have tried and have owned many different "communication" and stereo headsets and they have always come out lacking in one area or another (construction, fit, and speakers to name a few).
A few weeks ago I decided to try one more set after reading the ad for Radiosport Headsets in the CQ magazine.
I contacted Dave, WI6R to place my order for the RS20S "Listen Only" headset when I mentioned how my aging ears don't balance the sound equally from one ear to the next.
Dave had just the right headset for my problem, the "RS21 Symetrix Deluxe Dream Edition". What a beautiful piece of engineering these headsets are.
The RS21 has independant volume controls for each ear cup for exacting balance. With the Gel Ear Cushions, Cloth Covers, the Pillow-Top Headband Cover, and the Tool-Less adjustment feature, the RS21 is the most comfortable headset that I have ever had the pleasure of putting on. After 10 minutes of listening on my Yaesu FT-950, I forgot that I even had the headset on.
One other added bonus of the Radiosport headset is that as soon as it is put on, the majority of the outside world's noise just disappears with 24db of noise reduction. You basically become one with your radio and your QSO's.
You can't go wrong with the Radiosport headset and I would recommend these to any and all hams that are serious about their time on the air. Dave will make sure you get just the right product for your needs.
A fantastic product. Thank You Dave.

The BEST, Bar None! Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
These things are just stupendous.
Excellent clarity of received audio, excellent microphones, SOLID construction, and superb comfort.
Plus David is a great guy to work with. After I bought mine, I realized I'd goofed, and the set I had was mono. Since my Flex 5000A, and my new Yaesu FTdx-5000MP both have stereo outputs, I emailed David asking if there was any way I could get my set modified.
He replied withing 12 hours, and said "Sure, send it back and we'll do whatever you need.".
I got the headset back within a week, suitably modified, and I'm completely pleased with them.
I bought the "Dream" option, with gel ear pads and soft covers, and they just can't be beat.
I've used modified David Clark aviation headsets for many years, and these are even better, besides looking good. I don't mind the hard-core military look of the Clark headsets, but the Radiosport headsets are a thing of beauty.
No, they are NOT inexpensive, but things of this quality never are.
If you're going to spend several thousand dollars, or more, on a high-end radio, it's folly to cut corners on the audio interface to it.

You Get What You Pay For Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I just got my RS60-CF and I am impressed. I have had both Heil and Tentec headsets and both of them I had problems with a close by AM broadcast station riding on my transmitted signal. I had to install a .02 cap. across the mic ground and chassis ground pins in the 8 pin radio plug to prevent the problem. Poor shielding in the headset cords? I plugged in the RS60-CF and NO problems. This headset is built like a TANK. It's made in the USA, not an import with a USA name. It may cost more, but you get what you pay for.

Great Product, Great Service Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I operate mostly CW. These headsets are by far the best that I have ever used, and I have tried them all. They are great for weak signal work. I made and AB box to compare them with others and they are the clear winner. Support has also been fantastic. I had a slight issue and it was resolved 100% to my satisfaction. Keep up the good work Dave! 73

Very Nice Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
These are very nice. My set was a XMAS present, but they were out of stock and just came in. Very comfortable. I haven't had them very long but they appear to be the best headphones I've ever had. When I put them on, the outside world is gone and I can get real involved in what's on the bands without ear fatigue.
I got the RS20S-CF Dream option. If you like to be on the radio these are the way to go.

Amazing one!!!! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I purchased RS22-CF with Gel ear cushions and dust covers(dream option) I'm using a K3 with a MKII fro microHAM. I used always Heil and Radiosports makes the diference. Incredible audio, awsome head comfort.

I'm very happy with it, now it is time to test it in a contest to see how my ears feel after 48 hours!!!!

satisfactory Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I have the model RS20S--Black...I have had this headset for a month...when i ordered the one's in the CQ article they were out of stock..they were not sure when they would have more with the different pattern per the article..so i went with the Black Plastic...one thing I have not seen is reference to their Weight...it is about 18 ounces...which is much more than my Sony MDR-7506..or the 2 Bose sets i have ..I got the works, Gel Pads,Cloth Covers and Pillow-Top Headband Cover...They are very comfortable..I haven't used them in a long contest yet, but when worn for 30-45 minutes seem fine...as for neck or shoulder pain because of the weight..not a problem so far...they also do a very nice job of noise cancelling ..after a good contest I will report more..so far so good...

better than expected Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I purchased the RS22CF with the gel pads and cloth covers. After modifiying David Clarks and Sigtronics trying to get them to work properly these are are plug and play. I use mine on a TT omni7 and get great reports. As another poster stated a softer cord would be nice with a few more inches. I use the aux. PTT on the acc port with a hand held PTT button.

The Right Choice Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Purchased the RS60 headset with the gel earpieces. My main reason for considering this set was the many earlier positive comments on comfort and quality. I wear glasses and find that after several hours of contesting or working DX, my ears would hurt from the pressure of my old headset. I can now easily say these things are fantastic and after 24 hours of straight use, no pain, pinching, or discomfort at all.

So other than comfort, how do they actually perform? On transmit, I have had plenty of unsolicited positive comments on audio quality. During the recent SSB sweepstakes contest, I had far fewer requests for repeats this year compared to last year.

On receive, these cans do not have the high frequency response many other do. My proset plus has a wider frequency response but I find by eliminating some of the highs, aural fatigue is less. I have not given up any intelligibility over the proset plus and find the audio more to my liking.

The build quality appears excellent. The head band and mic boom are easily adjustable over wide ranges.

Customer service was very friendly, informative and efficient...the way it should be.

The only thing I would change if I could would be the cord between the headset and the radio. I find it very stiff and it frequently gets knotted or twisted. A heavy duty coiled cord would have been better for me. However this is a personal preference. The build quality of the supplied cord is excellent, just wish it to be more flexible.

For me, this easily replaces my Heil Proset plus in all categories, TX performance, RX performance, build quality, and especially comfort. That is not easy to do considering what an excellent product the Heil is. Not inexpensive, but professional quality and I suspect these will become the standard headset i the next year or two. - Ed
