Great! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
The only complaining:
No 5Khz step and DTMF keys.
Manufacturer must have in his mind the North and South America market.
By the way a real nice handie talk.
Nice RX audio and volume level.
Pocket size, light weight.
Battery as the same Nokia, easy to find.
I had, VX1 (good, but have to be treated as a lady) and today I keep mine IC-Q7 ( work horse, two AA cells).

Good little radio! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
This is a great little handheld. It doesn't have all of the bells and whistles of the more expensive rigs, but it very easy to use. It is also easy to program (on the HT, not on a computer), and has loud audio.

The manual is brief, but fairly easy to follow - no worse than manuals from Japanese manufacturers.

The only real con is that the VFO step size is 6.25kHz, so you may not be able to set it to the exact frequency needed for a repeater or simplex frequency (146.5175 is as close as it gets to 146.520) but that is not a problem either on simplex or through a repeater - it is just a slight shift in voice pitch.

I tried the programming software, and while it works, it does not support naming memories (it must be done manually on the radio itself). But, like I said earlier, it is a very easy to program directly on the radio so this isn't a big deal.

For $40, I think it is a great first rig for a new ham.
